RNG, your Dad raised a good son. The way you honored your Dad by telling this story, you are his Rolex. Everything is a matter of perspective and that is mine. You are alright in my book RNG.
What an amazing, heartfelt story. It's crazy how much our dads shape who we are and don't even know it. I miss mine terribly, as I can tell you do too. Congrats on the watch and everything it has sentimentality attached to it.
Awesome story, something I can relate to it, being poor in childhood and adolescent years. Born In Yugoslavia, had to go through civil war in early 90's. We lost everything we had, survived few years in war and left country to live as refugee in Germany. I've lived therefor 4 years (in refuge camp), shared 6 toilets with hunderts of other people. Not fun experience. We (legally) came to USA and while there was opportunity, my father never recovered or got any decent job. My mom was trying hard to meet ends meet but we lived in poverty for years. Long story short, both my brother and I strived to have better life that our parents and I think we did it well for ourselves. Not rich, but both of you have families and decent living. Again, thank you for sharing and while I'm not posting on your channel ( I still watch and put like) as I used to do, I know why I'm subscribed to you.
That's an incredible story. Much more than I ever had to go through. I'm glad you and your brother found that better life your parents wanted you to have. Hard work pays off more often than not

This hits home with me. We have chatted on almost every video you have posted(this the account I started to start posting on youtube) so you might not recognize the name. My father is still around, he will be 79 this year, I am in my early 40's. He was adopted and I am the only blood he knows so we are really close. He grew up poor, drafted and fought in Vietnam. My dad's biggest thing and part of his legacy was he wanted to own his own home. I never asked for anything but he wanted to be able to leave me something when he goes. This past August, I got a phone call around 11pm from my step sister, which never calls me and especially that late I was expecting the worse before I answered. She told me that dad's house was on fire, everyone is ok, I just said ill be right there cause I live 5 minutes away. In 40 years I do not think I have ever seen him ever even tear up. I get there, go put my arm around my dad, and asked if he was ok, I look at his face and he has tear running down his face, and he says "I just got it paid for...." I just told him I loved him and we will get it fixed. A battery charger started the fire in the garage, a propane tank exploded and woke my dad and step mom up thankfully. The fire department got the fire put out in time to save the main part of the house, but the ceilings and everything had to be ripped out and replaced in the main part of the house. And I am happy to say its not all down but they were allowed to move back in last week. Long story short, this video hits home and I totally understand everything, thanks for your time and effort you put into these videos.
Thanks for sharing that story! I'm sorry your dad had such a terrible fire in his beloved house. But, I'm glad everything is getting back to normal and that he was able to move back in. That's a devastating situation to be in

Great story brother! Awesome to hear your motivation and know a little bit more about you my friend! Glad you finally have the watch that you and your father wanted you to have.
Thank you so much for sharing this story, Jamie. My background is somewhat different than yours, and I have no particular attachment to wristwatches - but somehow I felt I could relate to everything you said. I guess one point of similarity is that, while growing up, I also had elders in the everyday household who lived through The Great Depression and WWII - but in my case, it was grandparents rather than my father. And in the case of my father - though he was “out of the picture” since I was very small - he also was a war veteran, though in his case for the military of another country. And I have the sense that his experiences left a permanent mark on him, though perhaps in very different ways than for your father. It is heartening to know you had such a rich relationship with your father. Though I never did, I was fortunate to have a wonderful guide and friend in my grandfather. During an era when it seemed most kids in the US barely knew their grandparents. Thanks again for the discussion. Glad that you’ve had a successful and satisfactory resolution to this journey.
I kept meaning to come back and comment on this video. I watched it almost right away and the entire story had me hooked. Loved hearing some insight into what makes RNG gamer tick... Literally LOL. It's not a purchase I could personally make, but I don't have an experience like yours so I couldn't say definitively whether or not I'd be willing to spend that much. We grew up poor as well. Not a lot of opportunity in our small community, but there was always lots of love in our family. I'm so incredibly happy for you that you made not only your dad's dream come true for you, but it also turned out to be your own. Very heartfelt and touching. Enjoyed this immensely
I'm not going to lie... but I've been looking forward to your comment since this video came out. I was so anxious to hear what you were going to say. I'm sorry you had a similar background that I did. But I'm glad you're doing so well now
Thankyou for telling us this story. Ive been following you now for 6 months and it’s great to learn more about you. Enjoy your watch and keep up the great content . UK
What a special story. Thank you for sharing about your father. My grandpa was in the British navy and one of my great grandpa's fought for Canada and died at Vimy Ridge. These stories matter.
Yo man, this channel is a gem. I knew as soon as I saw your first video you were the real deal. I just turned 40. I think you are a bit older than me based on hearing you talk about old NES games. I am a lifelong subscriber and potential new member soon.
I must have an old soul because I am a little over half your age @asterik2045 and wouldnt never felt old about nes. Smb 3, ninja gaiden, ice climber and the simpsons games are some of my favorites
What a wonderful story, Jaime. Thank you for sharing a little of your grandfathers story with us. It’s just money right?! Enjoy the watch and what it truly means my friend!
Awesome story and thank you for sharing it! Wrist watches mean different things to each person, but to me owning a good watch signifies that a person has either achieved something great, or overcome the trials that life threw at them while becoming adults.
I can't lie .. I was about to skip this video. Kept listening since I was driving, but next light changing it Then I listened to it. Didn't know you and your dad came from that lifestyle. My father also was dirt poor, came to this country (USA) dirt poor. Fought in a war he had no idea why it was being fought. I grew up in. One bedroom basement apartment that Everytime it rained sewage would come out of the toilet and bathtub creating about 2 inches of sewage water onto our floors. Listening to your story I definitely understood why getting this watch meant so much to you. Thank you for sharing the story
Growing up poor I understand this. It’s hard to describe the feeling that overcomes you when you do something you grew up thinking would never be possible for you. I’ve been lucky enough to have that feeling several times in life. Be proud man, you did make it. I imagine you made it quite a while ago, but to continue to surprise and surpass your expectations is a beautiful thing.
Thank you for sharing your story and past. This couldn't have been easy to do. I'm glad you did. As you, I grew up poor. So, I know how it is. Glad you went the other way in life. Congrats on all of your successes!
This is a nice break from video games. Hearing your dad's journey and struggles to get a watch and how it impacted you and led you down this path to finally get a Rolex is very touching
@RNGGamerYT it is much appreciated to hear and see different aspects of your life outside gaming. It's like I'm getting to know more on personal level and truly be friends with you
Thank you for a wonderful video and for being very true to yourself. My father passed away 10 years ago this year and he left me his Tag heuer watch, I know its not a Rolex but I will treasure it forever and someday will pass it on to my son when I've left this world. Keep up the great videos.
Truly a wonderful story mate, funny enough my old man had me at a similar age to yours, 55 he was, grew up dirt poor in the great depression and was drafted. For him it was his triumph motor cycle.
My dad also had to drop out of school in the 3rd grade to work on the farm. It was a hard life back then, and he and my mom worked hard to make sure I had it better. I try not to take it for granted. I'm sure your dad would be very proud of what you've accomplished and happy that you were able to get the watch.
thanks for sharing that powerful story about your father, very moving. congratulations on finally getting that subby on your wrist and finishing his story through your own. shame how difficult it is to be "qualified" enough to buy a product from a company that makes so many year after year, the same can be said about other luxury market targeted brands (Ferrari etc.) where you basically have to be accepted into their buyer pool through a courting process and are expected to be a repeat buyer before ultimately getting to the real product you want - but I suppose that's why the secondary market for those products and brands thrive so well. anyway, it's not about that, it's about your connection to your dad...hard to put an actual price on that, for real...
Anyone who hears that story and questions why you would buy that watch doesn’t get it man. So glad I clicked on this. Congratulations and I know your dad would be so proud. And he still was a part of it with that wonderful story. Wouldn’t have it without him
Nice. The story behind it makes it worth the cost. For me, it would be a hard pass. I'll stick with my 1K citizen watch. But each of us has those few things we chase and reach for. Especially when it has a hidden meaning.
Thanks for sharing the story, it was deeply personal and insightful into how you are as a person - and I think you’re a cool dude. my grandfather always wanted a Chrysler (new) and saved until he retired from construction (right after he got back from WW2), went to the dealership, found the car he wanted (maroon Chrysler 5th avenue…aka a boat) and paid for it in cash. He drove it home so proud of what he did…only to see the cops outside his house (dealership thought he stole the money and phoned 911). That got resolved, but he said the same thing your Dad said, but about cars, not watches. He kept that car even after he lost both legs to diabetes
Great video. I’m super grateful to start my week with this story and especially your message at the end. It’s exactly what I needed to hear as I’m facing new beginnings and new challenges in my adult life and career. It’s a marathon for me not a sprint, but time sure flies by as you get older and especially if you don’t wear a watch, like myself 😅. So I hear your words. It is important to treat yourself and award yourself along the way for nothing more than just surviving. When you work hard for what you have it is important to remind yourself that life can still be a joy at times… even if you never find a Rolex in your Christmas stocking, or hell even if you do. Cheers to ya RNG.
I couldn't have said it better myself. You keep plugging away at that marathon. You'll be surprised by how many other racers drop out of the race along the way
Whoa what a story. What a video. I really appreciate you sharing this. My dad passed away five months ago and even though our relationship was strained to nonexistent most of my life I could relate to your story. Addiction and unchecked mental illness runs rampant in my family. I can also relate to not thinking Id live to be this age. I assumed I’d be homeless and alone and just couldn’t really envision a future for myself when I was younger. but I have a roof over my head and I’m in a loving relationship and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’m happy for you and even proud of you for working hard and achieving your goal. Thanks for sharing. ❤ ps had no idea about the process to get those watches… It almost sounds cult like. Haha
I'm glad you're in such a happy place in your life and with your partner! I'm sorry to hear about your strained relationship with your father, but I'm glad you game some good memories there
Your dad would be proud of you. I know how you feel when you say you need to pay for something in cash when buying something pricey. I don't have any other hobbies really other than gaming, but I scrimped and saved the other day to buy one of my most ludicrously priced items. Not to your price level but it was a copy of Tamashii on PS4. Been thinking it was an unachievable goal forever, but finally I got there and grabbed it. Was very proud of myself, even though it means nothing to anyone else really.
Tamashii is an incredible achievement. That's one of my most wanted games. I saw someone pay $5k for it at the height of its desireablility. Congrats on grabbing a copy. I know you worked hard for it
Wonderful story. These Rolexes are ridiculously expensive, though are beautiful and addictive. Congrats on landing the Sub date. I just picked up my first. Luckily, I have a small market AD who is happy to work with all "regular" folks. My experience was nothing like you describe but I have heard horror stories.
A business model where in order to buy the thing you want means you must first buy these other expensive things to prove you're worthy of the thing you wish to purchase in the first place... feels like a racket to me. Could you imagine if buying a car or house or any other thing had a similar setup?
I thought I recalled you saying your Dad was a preacher? Maybe I miss heard. Either way I can say that you getting this watch honors your Father and he would be proud to know you have it. It sounds like it was more than a watch but symbolized a successful life and that his hard life's work meant something at the end of the day. I'm not surprised people didn't understand your story and significance of the watch. People born in luxury will never understand what it's like to be raised in true poverty. He sounds like a good Father who wanted to leave his son something significant behind that had a much greater meaning. Very heartwarming story thank you for sharing with us.
Greetings! I love Germany and have visited several times. It's so incredible that you're married to a watchmaker. I would love for you to tell me more about that as I'm interested in watchmaking myself
@@RNGGamerYTHer shop sells and repairs Nomos Glashütte watches, among others (you have to be certified, you can't just repair any random brand). My wife wears one herself and is very impressed by the technology and the quality. It's a great craft, I wouldn't have the patience for it, but she finds it incredibly fun. I told her about your story. Her training manager gave up his shop and has been working for Rolex for a few years now. He also wears one - out of conviction. In Germany, it's easier to get a Rolex, but there are waiting lists here too. She prefers to wear more classic/understated watches; the modern Rolex models are too flashy for her taste. But in terms of craftsmanship, they are undoubtedly great. Nomos is BMW, Rolex Ferrari, or something like that.
Great story very heartwarming, you dad obviously meant a lot to you, and would be very proud of you today. Shame on those college friends of yours, people who have a lot of money just don't understand and will never understand what something like this means to you, and meant to your father,to them it's no big deal, but to you and your dad, it meant the world to own a Rollex, let alone save up for one. I knew about the waiting list at Rollex but didn't know they hold an interview to see if you are worthy of one of their watches, and friend of mine now has several Rollex's but he wasn't born into wealth, he worked for corporate America as he likes to call it for year's before starting his own company, one tbat he always wanted to do for many years, and finally made that happen for himself, his passion is Halloween, so he started a company you may, or may not have heard about called Trick Or Treat Studios, out in Santa Cruz California. But getting back to your story and what owning one really meant to you, and thank you for sharing such a great heartwarming story about your dad, may he rest in peace, and such a great watch, like I said you're dad would be so proud of you
Thank you so much! I really enjoyed hearing a story about your friend. He's one of those "best" customers they are talking about. He gets first pick every time 🤣
Another aspect of D day is the unpredictable weather. The forcasters said it can rain and cancel D-Day but luckily it did not. Many days prior to D-Day, the weather is soggy, wet and rainy. Another aspect we usually don't recognised is the French Resistance. They sabotage supply lines such as rail ways, trucks and etc. They also rescue airborn soldiers behind enemy lines. There were speculations that Normandy beach as a military invasion tactic is a poor choice to be in. Some military tacticians would suggested the Western France as ideal location. Also, Italy has been invaded by the South Europe. I think Eisenhower (Normandy) and Clark (Italy)want to race who would get to Berlin fastest without looking to save more troops.
@RNGGamerYT It wasn't easy. Normandy was heavily fortified. In art of war, height give more advantage as they can shoot arrows, cannons, bullets and etc at farther places. The Allies have to crawl out of the beach and assend upward. It takes out the strenth and stamina of anyone. Imagine trying to run uphill on the beach sand which slow a person down. The Germans have intel that allies will be there as well and so were prepared. As for Western. France, it was not as heavily fortified and the German supplies are in disadvantage. I remembered playing Call of Duty Medal of Honor at Normandy beach. It was awful. I die so many times there. If I have a hardtime on that game, imagine the real D Day Invasion.
@RNGGamerYT The boat carriers were being shot at great distance because of the height advantage. There was 1 German fort built under a hill that was never capture by the Allies. The Allies bomb and try so many times and fail. It stood all the way to the end of the WW2. The Allies try to surround it and went uphill but have never capture it.
@RNGGamerYT my 2 dream watches are the Grand Seiko Snowflake and the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. I would much rather wear analog watches but for fall safety I wear a smart watch that has a fall detector in it.
I'm so happy with your comment... and everyone else's as well. They have been nothing but supportive. I wasn't expecting it. Good fathers have earned their respect
Hey RNG, sorry I've been rather quiet lately, I've been watching all of your content, just haven't had much time to write comments or join the livestreams. I had to take a few minutes to respond to this one though. Such a beautiful and heartfelt story. Thank you so much for sharing - it's not always easy to do so, at least for many of us. You seem like a genuinely great guy, and from that story, I have no doubt that your father was as well. I had no idea that obtaining a Rolex was such an ordeal, as I've never looked into getting one before. That is one nice watch though, and whenever you look at it now, it will remind you of a lot more than just the time. Your dad would be very proud of you.
Thank you so much! I've missed reading your comments, but I'm glad you found your way back. I loved reading this message so much. I try to be as good as I can
Not sure I'm a fan of the way Rolex do business. Reminds me of how Ferrari operates. I'm glad you ended up getting yours on the grey market rather than indulging Rolex and paying over the odds to get the watch you wanted. I have a feeling your dad would feel the same way. Great video, you have the gift of story telling.
Thats a nice story, never realized buying a rolex was like romancing someone only to get extorted. Sounds like a real pain. I usually wear a casio calculator watch from the 80s and a square G shock. My grail watch is a jaeger-lecoultre moon phase reverso.
@RNGGamerYT i have a few casios my gold worldtime with green map is my favorite AW500 is the model i think? Yes, personally i prefer square, watches i think they look more refined. I have slim wrists so a big chunky round watch wouldn't suit me too well.
Dude this is an awesome video. Probably the best Rolex story I'm likely to ever hear. Proud of you bro and so would your father be. Sounds like he was a genuine war hero and a great man. He definitely produced a fantastic son. ❤
Beautifull story, coming from a home where there was no money aswell, it is so reconizible. But we made it out stronger, wiser, maybe a bit richer, And with gamerooms that are beyond our wildest dreams growing up.
Great fathers are hard to come by, and you were truly blessed. We are all grateful for his service. As far as the Rolex dealers, what's their excuse for selling them to gangster rappers who sing about drugs and killing people? Meanwhile, blue-collar folks who work hard have to prove themselves? That's not right.
The watch itself has no meaning it was the story behind it that held the meaning. This type of story only comes along once in a while. Also screw Rolex for them making you jumping through all the hoops. Never say sorry for something you feel strongly about.

I think it's important to understand your family and the reason they are the way they are.
Thank you for sharing a little bit of yourself with me.
Congrats my friend. You should feel proud. You are good people and respect to you dad
That means so much to me!!! I am proud
Beautuful Story. I love any tribute to a Father. You will cherish that forever. Broke my heart when you said his final wishes. Wow what a purchase
Thank you so much for watching this video. It was an accident it was even released to the public. It was supposed to be a member's exclusive video.
UK
Thank you so much for following me for all of this time! I'll do my best to continue to put out great content
What a special story. Thank you for sharing about your father. My grandpa was in the British navy and one of my great grandpa's fought for Canada and died at Vimy Ridge. These stories matter.
The stories are how we remember and honor them
Thanks so much for telling this story. Having a great relationship with your dad when he was around was when you made it. Love ya brother
Very kind words, thanks!
Love you, too!
What an amazing story. Thanks for sharing. I hope that you always keep that feeling that you've made it, with or without the watch.
You're so kind... I hope so, too!
Yo man, this channel is a gem. I knew as soon as I saw your first video you were the real deal. I just turned 40. I think you are a bit older than me based on hearing you talk about old NES games. I am a lifelong subscriber and potential new member soon.
Thank you for your wonderful comment!
Congrats on turning 40. I'm just a bit older than you, 42. Enjoy all the aches and pains you've earned
It's just money! 🤣
Awesome story and thank you for sharing it! Wrist watches mean different things to each person, but to me owning a good watch signifies that a person has either achieved something great, or overcome the trials that life threw at them while becoming adults.
I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to my story! It means a lot.
I really enjoyed the amazing story! Thank you for sharing it. Very thankful for your dad’s service!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! It was hard to tell it
People that grow up rich often lack appreciation for the little (and yes, big) things.
It's difficult to relate... I still struggle with buying things like food...
I can't lie .. I was about to skip this video.
Kept listening since I was driving, but next light changing it
Then I listened to it.
I'm so sorry you had to grow up in those sorts of conditions.. I really am.
Thank you for listening to my story, and thank you for sharing yours.
Thank you so much for the kind words!!! They mean the world to me
Gratz on the watch Bro. Your dad did an incredible thing for all of us.
He would have appreciated you saying that 😄
Thank you for sharing your story and past. This couldn't have been easy to do. I'm glad you did. As you, I grew up poor. So, I know how it is. Glad you went the other way in life. Congrats on all of your successes!
It means so much to hear you say that. It really does
This is a nice break from video games. Hearing your dad's journey and struggles to get a watch and how it impacted you and led you down this path to finally get a Rolex is very touching
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the video
That's a damn fine watch!!! Sorry about your dad, but it's wonderful he left you something to remember him by
There is no need to apologize this is a very inspiring video
Thank you for sharing such a personal story i'm proud of you 🙂
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words
Great story. Can tell it means allot to you with the connection to your father. Well worth the money. Thank you for telling the story
Thank you for listening to it! I really appreciate it
Truly a wonderful story mate, funny enough my old man had me at a similar age to yours, 55 he was, grew up dirt poor in the great depression and was drafted. For him it was his triumph motor cycle.
Those guys were just different...
A triumph motorcycle is an incredible thing to strive for!!! They are still incredibly cool
My dad also had to drop out of school in the 3rd grade to work on the farm. It was a hard life back then, and he and my mom worked hard to make sure I had it better. I try not to take it for granted. I'm sure your dad would be very proud of what you've accomplished and happy that you were able to get the watch.
Times were so hard back then... I can't even imagine.
I know my dad is proud of me
thanks for sharing that powerful story about your father, very moving. congratulations on finally getting that subby on your wrist and finishing his story through your own. shame how difficult it is to be "qualified" enough to buy a product from a company that makes so many year after year, the same can be said about other luxury market targeted brands (Ferrari etc.) where you basically have to be accepted into their buyer pool through a courting process and are expected to be a repeat buyer before ultimately getting to the real product you want - but I suppose that's why the secondary market for those products and brands thrive so well. anyway, it's not about that, it's about your connection to your dad...hard to put an actual price on that, for real...
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, Ferrari works much the same way... what a way to do business 🤣
Thank you for sharing this very personal story. Congratulations!
I appreciate that!
Anyone who hears that story and questions why you would buy that watch doesn’t get it man. So glad I clicked on this. Congratulations and I know your dad would be so proud. And he still was a part of it with that wonderful story. Wouldn’t have it without him
Thank you so much for your kind words! They mean a lot to hear. The support for this video has been incredible
Very touching story and proud of you for sharing it. Take care 🥰
It was hard to share... it was supposed to be a member's only video. But, I accidentally released it to everyone
Great story. Thanks for sharing. Thank you for your dad's service.
I really appreciate your comment
Nice. The story behind it makes it worth the cost. For me, it would be a hard pass. I'll stick with my 1K citizen watch. But each of us has those few things we chase and reach for. Especially when it has a hidden meaning.
The citizen is nothing to scoff at! I want an eco drive, myself
Brilliant story buddy , I loved that. Your Dad is an amazing man 😊😊😊 Thanks for sharing the story. I was not expecting a video from you today 😁😁😁
It was an accident. This was supposed to be a member's only video. I accidentally set it to public... so, here we go 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT Hahaha oh well , Im glad i got to see it buddy. Fantastic story i really enjoyed it.
Those guys back then were just built differently. We're proud of your grandfather. You know he worked his butt off for that car
What an amazing and heartfelt story. Thank you for sharing.
It was hard to share... but I'm glad I did
Thanks for that story on a Monday morning you deserve it bro.
I really appreciate that
Great video.
I know you worked hard for it
Thank you for telling. Well done. I’m Swiss and didn’t even know that about Rolex. You can be proud for setting and achieving your goals.
I really appreciate it!!!
I'm glad you were able to grab one!!! I should go see your AD 🤣
This video was more motivational than most motivational videos. Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad I could share some words that motivated you!
Thank you for your story. I grew up in similar circumstances and can relate.
It's hard not being there anymore.
I still panic when I get hungry because my body still doesn't know if there will be any food to eat
Nice story, I wish there was something I wanted to buy that would mean a lot to me.
I hope there's something you'll want that badly one day, too
bro grinded for his main story quest item irl
You're not wrong 🤣
pulp fiction watch story vibes
Believe me, the similarities weren't lost on me 🤣
Great story...proud of you to honor your fathers memory. But...sounds like Rolex is quite the racket.
Thanks for listening to my story.
I'm not sure rolex is really a racket... but it's definitely a pretentious way to do business.
A business model where in order to buy the thing you want means you must first buy these other expensive things to prove you're worthy of the thing you wish to purchase in the first place... feels like a racket to me. Could you imagine if buying a car or house or any other thing had a similar setup?
Congrats, man. I’m glad you hit a milestone.
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate it
I thought I recalled you saying your Dad was a preacher? Maybe I miss heard. Either way I can say that you getting this watch honors your Father and he would be proud to know you have it. It sounds like it was more than a watch but symbolized a successful life and that his hard life's work meant something at the end of the day. I'm not surprised people didn't understand your story and significance of the watch. People born in luxury will never understand what it's like to be raised in true poverty. He sounds like a good Father who wanted to leave his son something significant behind that had a much greater meaning. Very heartwarming story thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for listening!
He was a preacher at a small church. Not a full-time gig 🤣
@@RNGGamerYTThat's pretty cool though! I'm sure he had lots of wisdom
Greetings from a German viewer, who's married to a watchmaker. Your story touched me deeply, thanks for telling it!
@jaxi4467 that's incredible! I really enjoy the Nomos Gladhütte pieces as dress watches. However, as a tacky American, I love the flashy stuff 🤣
This story just solidified why you are in my top 5 content creators…My second favorite game content creator!!! The NERD king 😆😆
Wow... I'm honored you think of me that way. You'll have to fill me in a little more about why you rank me so highly
Congrats on your wonderful accomplishment. You'll always have your dad there with you to let you know what time it is.
It brought a tear to my eyes to hear you say that. Thank you
Awesome story dude. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!!!
No snarky comments today, thank you for sharing.
Wow! I'm honored 🤣
I just have to say I absolutely loved this video and the story! I am sure your dad is proud. Great work
Aww, thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing this story
You're very welcome! It was hard to do, but I'm glad I did
Great story very heartwarming, you dad obviously meant a lot to you, and would be very proud of you today.
He gets first pick every time 🤣
Great video, very motivational! Definitely made me think a lit and now i wabt to strive to do better !
Always strive to be better not only for yourself, but everyone else
Good for you! Achieving a goal like that is a huge accomplishment.
I really appreciate that!!! It feels like a massive weight off my chest
D day was insane in every aspect. Normandy was a strange choice, but it was probably logistically easiest.
Your father was a genuine bad-ass & hero!
Thanks so much! He sure was a tough old guy
fantastic story! you deserve it so much!
I really appreciate that!
Great story, Jamie! Congrats on the submariner. It's a great watch.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. I love the watch
@RNGGamerYT my 2 dream watches are the Grand Seiko Snowflake and the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. I would much rather wear analog watches but for fall safety I wear a smart watch that has a fall detector in it.
This is why I watch your channel.
I am so shocked about the response to this video... I really am. Never have I had such wonderful comments. Yours included
My grandfather was in world war 2 and was a bombadier. He bombed many places and it was hard for him to talk about.
Interestingly, my father was born in 1943 and served in Vietnam, but became a carpenter after that…
That's a rought assignment. I bet your grandfather was a quiet man.
What a small world!!!
Also I believe you are an Alzheimer’s researcher? I became a physician after studying Neuroscience in college lol
I am!!! How incredible
Damn thanks for sharing that, as someone whose super close with my father and respects the hell out of him as well, i get it.
I'm so happy with your comment... and everyone else's as well. They have been nothing but supportive. I wasn't expecting it.
Good fathers have earned their respect
Very cool story behind that purchase, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching it!
Congrats! My fave watch style. I’d buy one too, if I had a tale like yours. I ended up with a Certina DS that plays the part pretty well!
I love Certina watches!!! A cool watch is a cool watch. That's what I love about them
Well done well deserved love the story behind it your dad would be so proud of you well done
I think my dad would have been proud. Thank you so much for watching
Thank you.
Thank you!
I try to be as good as I can
My favorite video of yours bar none
That means a lot, coming from you!
I really appreciate your kind words. Yeah, it's a lot like Ferrari, there's no doubt about that.
I learned storytelling from my dad ☺️
Thats a nice story, never realized buying a rolex was like romancing someone only to get extorted. Sounds like a real pain. I usually wear a casio calculator watch from the 80s and a square G shock. My grail watch is a jaeger-lecoultre moon phase reverso.
I also wear a casio some days, a World Time.
The moon phase reverso is a magnificent piece. Are you a fan of squared dress watches?
@RNGGamerYT i have a few casios my gold worldtime with green map is my favorite AW500 is the model i think?
Yes, personally i prefer square, watches i think they look more refined. I have slim wrists so a big chunky round watch wouldn't suit me too well.
Thanks for a great video! Your dad is definitely proud
Thanks so much! I think he is
Dude this is an awesome video. Probably the best Rolex story I'm likely to ever hear. Proud of you bro and so would your father be. Sounds like he was a genuine war hero and a great man. He definitely produced a fantastic son. ❤
Thank you so much! Your kind words mean a lot 😄
@@RNGGamerYT All true mate!!! ⭐💯❤️🇬🇧🫡
@Kenno10rapid 😄
Beautifull story, coming from a home where there was no money aswell, it is so reconizible. But we made it out stronger, wiser, maybe a bit richer,
And with gamerooms that are beyond our wildest dreams growing up.
We did it!
Best video of yours. Congrats on your success. You should be proud.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I am proud
I didn’t know u had to do that mush for a watch
Just these watches 🤣
Good for you. I'm proud of you.
It's wonderful to hear those words
Great fathers are hard to come by, and you were truly blessed. We are all grateful for his service.
As far as the Rolex dealers, what's their excuse for selling them to gangster rappers who sing about drugs and killing people? Meanwhile, blue-collar folks who work hard have to prove themselves? That's not right.
I think a lot of those rolexes are bought from flippers!!! Honestly, a lot of those guys rent them 🤣
Very touching story 😢 What is your profession now?
I'm an Alzheimer's Disease researcher at a university
As long as you’ll always find meaning from it, definitely worth it.
I'm so glad you think so
The watch itself has no meaning it was the story behind it that held the meaning. This type of story only comes along once in a while. Also screw Rolex for them making you jumping through all the hoops. Never say sorry for something you feel strongly about.
It's all about the story and the achievement. The watch is just a reminder of that
