Via Francigena in Tuscany Full Documentary - Discovering Historical and Cultural Heritage of Italy

- Via Francigena is an old pilgrim and trade way that stretches from Canterbury, England, goes through all the France, crosses Alps, Switzerland and then it comes to the city of Rome, Italy. It is a very long pilgrim trail - around 1800km and is kind of an Italian version of the Camino in Spain. We were specifically interested in Italy, so we did only the Italian part of the trail. We started in Aosta valley in the North of Italy, followed it for several days and then continued it in the province of Tuscany. We hiked through the most beautiful natural places and visited many interesting medieval villages and historical sites as well.

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

I love that you’re camping every night. Planning to do the same next year. I have six months off for a sabbatical and plan to walk several Caminos in Spain, France, and Portugal. You are motivating me to check out this Rome camino.
It sounds awesome! Just make sure to leave some rest days in between the hikes. We do still have to hike the Portugal, hope to get there this year. And the Francigena Camino is nice too, just not in the summer hot months.
What was your Via Francigena like? And would you like to walk it if you haven't yet?

Just discovered your amazing collection of videos so I subscribed in hopes to watch them all eventually. Have been thinking about hiking the Camino and found out about Via Francigena. Had to watch to see what it’s like but not sure about it now. Hope to visit northern Italy later this year and see some of the same places. Thanks!
Maravilha! Obrigado!
Fantastic, when did you do this hike?
Thank you for the comment! We did it in July 2019, it was super hot in that season.
which program or tool are you using to trace the route with that yellow moving line ?
We use the adobe Premiere and layering technique there, it's a bit hard to explain but we have found it by the trial and error. We are sure you can find some similar tutorials on UA-cam.
♥
amazing, how long it you guys to complete the whole Italian trail?
We did the Tuscany part in around 2 weeks
👍👍👍❤️
Beautiful, thank you. Can you tell me how much your packs weigh, if you know?
Thanks for the comment. Yeas, sure, our oack usually weighs around 6 kg for Angelina and 11 for Dima but it can vary a bit depending on amount of food supplies we carry. You can watch our what's in a pack for more details too.
@@WalkingNatureWorld Ok great, thanks again, cheers.
Hi, I am also a walker and since I am retired I have taken advantage of it. Due to COVID unfortunately my walks are now very limited, ok we will wait for better moments if you want information about Italy, Russia, Africa are at your disposal.
Hello, thank you for the comment, yeah, the restrictions have influenced most of the plans. Thanks for offering your help, it is so kind of you. We would love to travel to Africa one day and we haven't been to the South of Italy.
