Hi Aaron! I spent the night watching your videos. I can´t retouch because my hand hurts. This has been a very productive night. I´m very grateful, as always :)
I really appreciate your personality! This is the very tutorial I've watched of yours and I'm so stoked on how easy and simple you make using this program look to use. You have gave me confidence and I thank you!
Jessica Drossin!! I really enjoy how her images are edited but I can't justify buying her actions, I'd rather learn the techniques in photoshop! Thanks Phlearn, love your videos!
I love your tutorial. I watch them all the time...One quick question: Do you have or can you do a tutorial on understanding the difference and when to use layer masks, adjustments layers and any tips on how to remember when to apply them both?
+Dawan Brown The use of layer masks and adjustment layer allow your to change the image NON-destructively. If you applied LEVELS directly to a layer, and later didnt like it, you could not change it. Using a LEVELS adjustment layer allows you to go back and change the Levels, or delete the levels all together without destroying the image. With masks, you can can change and a adjust as opposed to using the ERASER tool, which would destroy the pixels.
Yes, yes, yes!!! I have one, I can't figure out how to get the amazing colors that meg bitton does. there is one in particular that I'll get the link for. I'd love one of your awesome tutorials on achieving her style!!
Hey Arron! This was awesome, thank you! You featured Meg Bitton on one of your weekend inspirations. I just love her moody soft backgrounds that have the rich darks and a matte effect. I would like to know how to do that matte type of effect without it looking dull in the darks. The light bokeh looks like she adds in photoshop, a tutorial on how to do that would be cool too!
Best video as of yet for color toning! Can you show this in Lightroom 4. I would love to create a couple of presets using this toning process. Thanks much!
"you're so artistic with your colors, its amazing" "....uhh i know its amazing" hahaha this video took me back to when i started, sometimes the wrong way of doing things sets your apart & gives you that professional edge. thanks
I like Dawan's question. I get confused with the issue of when to use layer masks, and adjustment layers and why? Thank you for your awesome help learning.
Excellent Tutorial! I liked the way you made the color blend seamlessly with the Background. I have also a request: I would like to see an image composition with people's faces crafted on the "Rushmore" Mountain! :-) Thank you.
High frequency separation is something that has not yet been explained to me very well. Maybe I can resonate better with your explanation of the technique. Please give it a go.
Great tutorial! I have a technique that I see frequently that I cannot seem to figure out and it's how to get that high fashion white skin look, if you could do a tutorial on that, it would be awesome! Thank you!
To do that you can make the photo brighter and with a colder tones, and less saturation helps a lot too, is difficult to explain writing... but basically you have to remove de yellow skin tones and remove a little bit the saturation, and put blue (or green) tones to make their skin look pale white.
Thank you for your mini-lesson! I found it quite informative. I look at Meg Bitton's work, and I think, "Oh, Wow! How does she do that?" However, her workshops are too steep for my pocketbook. Do you have any advice on how to enhance your background colors to look soft and dreamy?
Hi! I have a question for you! I have recently bought a strobe lighting kit and having trouble with the shadow behind the person. How do I fix it to make it look even on both sides? Also, what's the best way to use the umbrella? I haven't used it yet because I have no clue how to! I've been placing the lights on low and far away from the subjects body/face in order to get my desired look. Thanks for your time! I love your videos!
I think you can get the same effect as when you did apply image over again like 3 or 4 times to lighten the effect by clicking on your mask and doing command-L to bring up levels on your mask and then adjusting the levels slider.
Would you mind doing a tutorial on setting Photoshop up for sending your portraits to a professional printing company for Prints I don’t get the whole RGB CMYK set up
thats great and all... but with all the 'playing around' with the image to get a look you like, what do you do if you have several images that you have to do the same editing to?! (its not like LightRoom where you can copy/paste/apply)
I'm a super beginner so i feel you move too fast and don't explain what you click or press on your keyboard to make something appear/disappear. can you slow down? other wise i loove your tutorials thanks!
Just curious; I had an idea for a video for my channel, but I want to edit certain special effects into it. For example: Little wisps in the background of my video, in the woodland. Any idea how to do this?
If you are more amateur you can just play around with the color, then you learn how to reach the tones you want. Or how to copy color effects of other photos.
hahaha u know, hans zimmer also said the same thing about being "artistic" he says ppl always call him the best but within himself he is like "omg what will they do to me when they find out that i have no idea what am doing" looool i think artistic ppl are just people that are more prone to make beautiful mistakes more than the average person cause most art are just created by trying something then mistakenly stumbling on something beautiful :)
***** - Guys, can you please make a video about color blindness and working with photoshop? How do you work around this limitation that affects roughly 10% of the male population? I know Aaron you might not be color blind yourself but if you guys are aware of tips and techniques to work with colors/skin tones, that would be great!
You give steps that have revolutionised my photography. Everyone at Phlearn you are so talented.
I'm not a photographer, but I have found that I do a ton of editing of images. These tutorials have helped a ton with my graphic work! Thanks!
Hi Aaron! I spent the night watching your videos. I can´t retouch because my hand hurts. This has been a very productive night. I´m very grateful, as always :)

This is awesome as usual. Wanting to learn more subtle color grading for high fashion images.
Photoshop has no rules. its the vortex into creativity.
Excellent... many thanks for this one... will use these techniques a lot.

Hi! Would you mind showing us how to edit a newborn photo with a baby who's skin is not so great and the lighting isn't great either? Thanks!
Could you do a video on how to edit images the way that Elena Shumilova does. Photographer from Russia
I'm a super beginner so i feel you move too fast and don't explain what you click or press on your keyboard to make something appear/disappear. can you slow down? other wise i loove your tutorials thanks!

I recognize at least one photo behind you on the wall as a Sally Mann, is the other one also a Sally Mann, can’t quite see it. Good taste.
please also provide us with the images that you work on ..we would like to practice on them also.
I'd like to learn how to color tone images like Meg Bitton!!

HI! i wonder how the photographer Brooke Shaden color her images. they always look like fantasy and surreal
please do a tutorial!!!
Emma7B She does exactly what he explained in this video. She normally likes playing with the blue and red channel.

It's the Wacom Small. He said it in a video. Also don't get a medium or big one because the small one is more than enough.

Have you tried using the colorblindness adjustment that comes in Photoshop? It's under View -> Proof Setup -> Colorblindness.

Great tutorial, but please talk a bit slower.
