Good move! We made the same decision to bring in Giant back in 2019 right before the pandemic. We were happy to have a big brand supporting us during the tough times. We opened as an independent bike shop and wanted to stay that way. Giant gave us access to a full lineup of bikes without trying to control our business. They have been a great partner. You won’t regret it. BTW, The Momentum e-bikes are a good seller for us as well.
Good points JT made! I live in Newfoundland, so I doubt no big brands will open brand direct stores, but online sales are eroding the cycling industry.
I'm riding a model not very well known, the 2012 Giant Rapid 3. I swapped out the straight bars for drops just because I really wanted a road bike and I love this bike so much that couldn't bring myself to sell it. I used to go on long rides with it during the weekend. Now I use it mainly for my daily commute. Giant bikes are really popular here in Singapore. They're very affordable and built to last, even their entry level bikes!
Yes, Giant makes bicycles to last. I was pursuing them for 9 months and I finally got them in my shop. It's easy to sell something when you also believe in the quality of the brand.
Awesome. Riding Revolt since 2021. Very happy. Going to upgrade frameset next year to a newest model. Every bike has some issues no things are perfect. It's all about how you deal with those issues and having a reliable dealer is the key. All the best 🤞🏻
That's a great choice as long as they let you drive your business and not dictate your market. As Big S & T do, be yourself, your bike shop, and your community, and fulfill your niche. You are the expert of your market, and no one else is. The Big T killed our family shop after we put in over 12 years of blood, sweat, and tears. They were not there when we needed them and slammed the door on our faces. Have a wonderful holiday!
But will Giant except you not being a dealer but a "curated shop" with only some Giants in the lineup? More and more the independent shops I go to seem to select entirely around the larger brands. I suspect most folks will continue to buy online for accessing more independent brands but again there seems to be a reckoning coming once the consumer realizes how inflated the big brand pricing structures are and the profit margin on their end. Maybe in the spirit of the video Giant will reconsider where they produce their frames and see value in being made in the USA. I still don't quite get then his language meshing with the reality of how Giant and others still present themselves to the consumer.
I love bicycles and I have a whole fleet of them from numerous brands. Unfortunately, I do not buy bicycle from the major brands and ALL by bicycles are from smaller and CHEAPER makers than the big four. My reason for not choosing them is firstly, I don’t ride as a fad but to truly enjoy, stay healthy and connect with nature as a mountain bike/ gravel cyclist. The majority of cycles sold by the big brands are the plastic or “carbon” bicycles which are completely overpriced, crass and environmentally damaging.
I'm a Giant TCR owner..
And it is a phenomenon bike
Stiff, responsive, the acceleration is amazing

Thanks for sharing. We will look closer at Momentum.

When I stumbled upon that JT video I was convinced Giant would be our brand.

🎉I love Giant and Liv bicycles! It is an awesome company. Bravo! 😊
My wife has the Liv ebike and she loves it. Great choice for a partner.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Congratulations 🎉 for your new Giant partner. it's a really truly company I know them from inside as a warranty dept in corp of Giant México.
Thank you! We have heard good things about their warranty process.
Giant bikes are good bones too. I turned an old Gravier hybrid into a touring bike. Hasn't failed me yet and the frame is going on year 10 of use.
Even their affordable bikes are solidly built to last.
Solid choice and congratulations!
Howdy from western Colorado!
Bravo - great brand choice sir!
Thank you for the support!
Good builds good value. Not the most beautiful bikes but well made

Thanks for the advice Justin. Yep, I’ve heard some rough stories like that when I started digging around.

Giant is sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods also. There are a lot of them across the US.
Yes, but the Dicks near me isn't selling Giant. Not saying they won't, but I could easily outcompete Dicks.

I had a Giant Propel, unfortunately it was an extremely disappointing bike. Don’t think I would purchase another Giant.
Giant TCR 4 life!!
