    You may need to increase power out of the hole after you figure out if your burnouts are adequate temperature wise, slicks work best with controlled spin to not bog the driveline … just one more option to consider as you try everything. My advice about the track officials is pay attention to your car and don’t worry about them, practice your procedure to trigger muscle memory. You’re a light hearted guy don’t let that get in your head, they’ll respect you from your repeated efforts

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  3 роки тому

      I'm aware of what needs to be done with the slicks. Once all 4 tires have been heat cycled we'll see how much power they can handle off launch. My muscle memory is already as dialed in as I can get on the sequence that needs to take place prior to racing. Sadly it takes a bit of time and the track officials were not happy with that regardless of how quickly I was able to go.

    Tearing down front tires, never the RS3......Actually dealer sold me my car telling me the car was flashed back to stock but its went through two pairs of tires up front since late January 2021. First pair was a strange brand that was on the car when I bought it, called Achilles. Those were bald as soon as warmer temperatures came around in late March early April. Replaced with Michelins which I loved wen fresh. But yes RS3 loves them fronts.

    Is that Shoei RF series motorcycle helmet you are wearing? A few years back I totaled my Yamaha R1000 at speeds in excess of 100mph and my RF-1200 saved my life... I actually used it for my first drag racing experience last month.. looks exactly the same. It’s a great helmet. Its definitely not running a stock flash but finding out what its running for boost and loggging it using VCDS is why Im back to Vancity audi. Cars like the Nova in the video, there seems to be atleast 5 locally. Im not nearly as modded as you but I wonder what those guys would think of getting spanked by a little Audi. Not all but Im sure I would get more than a few because there just too old to use this thing called the internet. If I get a certain boost , do you think you could pick out the tune its running? Ive already called IE and APR, they don't have my VIN but IDK about unitronic. I don't think they keep records related to VIN, beyond those three I would be worried about its proper developement. I guess I can have Audi flash stock the next time its there.

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  3 роки тому

      Just email all of the tuners out there with your VIN and ask if they have tuned your car. Unitronic, APR, Integrated Engineering, 034, there are a ton of companies that offer tunes for RS3's. If any of them have flashed your car they will have your VIN on file.

    • @kellygrajek
      @kellygrajek 3 роки тому

      @@VancityAudi Maybe I didnt go into it last time I asked you a quick question but APR was the first call I made because my selling dealer for the RS3 said it was de-tuned from an APR flash back to OEM. I told the APR guy my scenario.How I was trying to find out what tune its running in correlation to my VIN because I was told it was reflashed returned to stock. It always makes all kinds of racket on startup. Ive had people at gas pumps give me many dirty looks and Im just like hey its programmed into the computer, I dont know how to not have the car do that. Kindly inform me if you have any immediate Ideas. I dont think there is any way Audi would program all that racket on startup. Yeah maybe after hitting the correct button or mode but from default. Nah there not gonna have your neighbors want to kill you. Ive been wrong before though. So after explaingin quickly this dilemma the APR guy says we no longer support those tunes so i couldn't give you any information relating to that software,. He said the company as a whole was told not to even talk about them because of what was going on with the EPA out in California and other states. I read several articles about it online, how many in the industry felt unfairly targeted and that the EPA was literally raiding some of these tuners like they were cartel kingpins. Not for pallets of cash though, because they were participating in making vehicles illegal. I know this got really long winded but at one point the EPA was saying that cars could not be modified and driven on the street legally. Well thats right around when alot of the websites used that phrase "for race use only". Initially he was really sketchy about this EPA thing and what he even said to me but eventually he calmed and agreed to run the VIN. Nothing for APR. IE was next, that was a dead end, and so was Unitronic. Because of roadblocks that I never should of ran into for something that I thought would be easy. I obviously want to atleast find out if there is some other small modern miracle way to know without a OEM rewrite by Audi. Thats a last resort. Would Audi even do that , flash over whatever is in there back to OEM tune. I will try a couple more tuners, hopefully Ill have better luck than the first three. Its really not a huge deal other than I want to know what it is so if I do buy mods Im not wasting my money. Or the actual reason this ECU tune dilemma came up again, I may trade it in on something that is 1/3 the payment. I love the car like you do but life has ups and downs. Often you have to do things you dont like doing, thats life. Thanks Adam. Sorry about the Novel , and I know its not a forum. Wen typing up something related to your passion, its easy to lose track. Take care

      @@kellygrajek There is absolutely nothing you can do on how the car starts up. It starts up loud and obnoxious from the factory. That is how Audi built and tuned the car. Once the cats or downpipe are warm it makes really loud pops and bangs on startup. If you were told it was de-tuned from an APR tune, and APR customer service doesn't have your VIN listed then the dealer is lying. Either that or they've been misinformed. You can buy a cable from any company from what I understand and flash the OEM tune on the car. You won't improve your start up sounds but at least then you know you'll be using a stock tune, if that's what you desire.
