I’ve worked at a petstore for over 5 years now been in the hobby for 11 years now. That red sand is awesome but unfortunately that brand you have to rinse the sand like crazy to get the clumps to not happen but if you leave it and scoop the clumps and floaters it won’t take very long for it to be perfect looking. That brand is a little strange but with a little bit of early maintenance of scooping out the clumps it’ll look great

I love your videos Paul, the mata mata needs a way different set up than what you have it in, give it leaves make the water more acidic, most mata mata are wild caught and do not acclimate well long term if kept in different conditions, that’s why you don’t really see large ones in captivity (I have two adult mata and I’m giving you this advice not to sound snobby but to ensure animals live amazing lives with their owners)

Paul I would get some Indian almond leaves and driftwood for mata mata they like low ph water and tannins and they actually mimic leaves so it’ll be cool to put some on their and give it a better natural look just some advise
Yo! The red sand looks really dope! I would just fill it out a little bit with rocks and more places to hide! I think it would be dope if you added naturally red-colored aquatic plants to go with the sick red sand!! I like how the sand matches the belly of the mata-mata!!!

I have the same red sand in a 40 gallon, the clumps are sand stuck together with air bubbles. You can pinch the clumps, and it will settle over time!
I have that filter basking log for my african sideneck turtle. Make sure you turn the pump on the inside all the way up or it will clog easy! Great video!

Hey if you take a few rocks and some aquarium safe super glue crush the rocks to create powder and put that on where you used the foam spray to make it blend better

Hope the substrate in the mata mata tank is temporary. It will very likely stress it out since there isn't many good hiding places. Mata matas are ambush hunters and need quite a bit of debris and hiding spots to feel secure.
He doesn't care about animal welfare. Easy, no prep videos with emphasis on mostly the thumbnail and title. All about youtube fame and easy add money.

I would put more hides in both the turtle tanks, you can also add moss and java ferns and more plants to give it a swamp feel to replicate the turtles natural habitat. Turtles also like to eat some floating plants and other plants
