It's been 12 years or so now, you could've built a simple spacious mosque for prayers.

Mashallah what an amazing project. I pray Allah (swt) makes it easy for you. You see in today's time the youth don't look at minarets and domes, this isn't enough to bring them into our Masaajid. They are our future and we must invest in things that will bring them towards the Masjid so we can influence them for the better. The gym and cafe are wonderful idea's and will help towards this cause. A 100 years ago the Christians built so many structures and today many of these structures are derelict because their youth were led astray, in my local area the former Church is now a furniture store. Is this what we want of our Masaajid in 50 years time? It is so sad to see so many of our youth on the streets involved in the worst of crimes with no regard for their deen, if they are our future then we don't have much of a positive future in this country. Hopefully Inshallah projects like this one can help change that.

Abu Dawud (448) narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “I have not been commanded to build lofty mosques.” Ibn ‘Abbas said: You are going to adorn (mosques) as the Jews and Christians adorn (their places of worship). Classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Abi Dawud.

no offence to anyone but this is massively over ambitious. 4 floors for a mosque, a gym, cafe?! All a mosque needs is 2 big prayer rooms for males and females, wudhu area, a couple of offices or classroom for admin, meeting and interfaith events. No need for all this lavish over-expenditure especially considering the disgraceful state of the current mosque. Building something humble and usable for the immediate future is far more important. The reality is that half of the people who contribute to this project wont even be alive to pray there by the time they eventually collect enough money and then build the thing.

Couldn't agree more. I think it will lose the purpose of the masjid itself. If you want to build a gym or halal food corner then build them separately from the masjid.

Oh my God, how uneducated are you guys?! A mosque isnt just a place to pray in, it should be a social place for muslims, Prophets saw mosque was a place of social interaction amongst the muslims, please go and check our history then comment
