They don't just pull these all of a sudden and caught the translator off guard. Most of the thing they does is STAGED and they improvise only with the audience. Either way, the translator is translaring for Family Guy, a comedy. That would be the expectation. How would it be "professional" as you say if you can't curtail to the tone/atmosphere of the material being translated?
I asked my ASL speaking friends how they felt about this, they thought it was awesome. Got cool is it that someone doesn't get butt hurt about this. Way to live life to the fullest and not sweat the small stuff. :)
