I watched you make this about three times and made my own version with okra included and Tony C's Creole seasoning. Added a pre-cooked bag of Uncle Ben's wild rice and some Old Bay hot sauce. Thank you so much for this recipe I will be making it years from now still
Aw man, that looks so delicious! I haven't had neckbones and lima beans since I moved back home to New Jersey from Atlanta and I really like the idea of adding some brown sugar to the pot in order to bring a little more sweetness along with some seriously soulful depth to all of those good savory flavors not to mention the fact that this video has inspired me to the point where I am going to have to cook me up a mess of this stuff real soon as well as some nice hot cornbread made with buttermilk and bacon grease and while I am at it, some mac n cheese or potato salad perhaps and maybe even some peanut butter pound cake too. Unsolicited testimonial courtesy of Sour Diesel and I thank you kindly for this video...✌🏼
I don’t eat Lima beans, but I used your recipe to cook some for my fiancé. He loved them! I used turkey necks, but didn’t have any bay leaves. I have to buy some bay leaves for next time. And thanks for showing how to make using frozen Lima beans. Thanks for sharing 🙌🏾
I like his recipe except the Brown sugar, I can't do that, But if I was going to tweak that recipe in a small way I may add a cup of dry white wine to the broth and let that cook down an additional 25 to 30 minutes!
I sho would've liked to have seen you serve them delicious beans and neck bones on a plate over some white rice just get my mouth really water... Great content, thanks...👍🏽

I think mine took an hour and half to 2 hours. But it really depends on your kneck bones. Some kneck bones have more meat on it. So my advice is until yours are tender and falling off bone
Dramatic. its pepper boy lol the unnecessary time that would be spent getting what he needs out of the grinder because he’s actually seasoning his food doesn’t make sense to me, as someone who does spend time in the kitchen.
I miss my momma lima beans, aww man the sweetness. I think I'm making this tonight with some corn bread 👍
Yes enjoy! Thanks for the comment!
Man each bite will make you smile, and just off that bowl alone you can work all day.

Why do I have to boil and wash my neckbones twice?
Good! But be careful with salt the smoke neck bones are highly salty. But good dish.
YUMMY 😋 THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 AMAZING LIMA NECK BONE ❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME,
Cooking this tommrow
Thanks
We boil the twice rinse them off. Then cook
Can you use smoked pork neckbones?
Sorry for the late reply, yes you certainly can, just be careful with the salt you add when you use smoked neckbones.
I was wondering could I use fresh neckbones. My home is smelling great ret nie. Thx
@@gabutterfly2855 good glad you enjoyed
Smoked turkey
SMOKED NECKBONES...
Omgggggg
Can I get the brand of that pot
Lodge is the brand name. Think I got it at Walmart. Its Dutch oven.
Tonight
I used to over cook my neck bones in lima beans or green until it just melted and all bones and beans
Yeah thats over kill! Should not be cooked that long lol
I'm sorry but using canned black pepper when you have freshly ground available is just egregious.
