Enzo did well but the problem is when change lavi to Hull
For me squad selection was horrendous
1. We needed to stretch the pitch with natural wingers not midfielders out wide(he didn't even learn from preseason against the same city side)
2. That midfield three of Lavia,caicedo and enzo must not play together, there are no goals or assists in them 3( repeated same mistake from preseason)
3. Maresca claimed he watched chelsea games last season yet he played fernandez in the 10(same mistakes poch did until he started playing palmer in the 10)
4. Subs were sensible but he took out the wrong people(most cutbacks were coming to fernandez but he doesn't score, why not remove him put palmer there and then neto or madueke RW, but instead he remove one goal threat)
5.Need a clinical striker(Haaland 1 chance 1 goal but Jackson 5 chances no goal)
overally maresca knew what he was doing but his squad selection it was horrendous.He needs to improve on the subs, they were so obvious in that game yet he made incorrect decisions.
If he keeps playing this squad I would be led to believe Maresca isn't even selecting matchday squads, the owners are
Squad selection is as it should be. You’re gonna leave out Nkunku and Palmer for Madueke and Sterling? Or Neto who literally just joined?

Enzo Maresca should decide to play Lavia & Caicedo or Lavia & Fernandez. Either way Lavia should start then sub Caicedo or Fernandez. Chelsea played well but unfortunately Jackson didn't carry his scoring boots
But the issue with that is you got to manage Lavia after a long season injury maybe against less pressing teams that double pivot can work but I get it's still prone to dangerous counter attacks
He gave the ball away a couple of times which put us in trouble, but the factor is a kovicic who we sold for cheap unlocked our 220 mil midfield wtf

Enzo Fernandez is horrible. He’s the worst player in Chelsea squad. Saying he’s bad is an understatement. All fans talk about is “he’s a world cup winner” as if he won it alone.
Agree Enzo is better as a DLP
But is terrible in defending
The manager is clearly not free to pick the team he chooses, the owners playing manager from behind the scenes, and very badly at that. Making us a joke after being champions for years, sad.
Enzo literally got the job because he convinced the board that he knows how to use Enzo and Caicedo in midfield. The issue with this team is that they are are still learning the system. Results aside they have been slowly improving with every passing game since they played City in preseason.

@@Mr.BaSir20 Nah its clear he doesn't, when is he going to realise having an actual goal threat in the 10( Palmer over enzo) and actual wingers (Madueke and neto/sterling) is going to win him games. He has to play 2 of that midfield 3 or even 1 otherwise 3 of them have no goals or assists. And chelsea need to get him a clinical striker(Haaland 1 chance 1 goal,jackson 5 chances 0 goals). I get it jackson has linkup play but goals win games
@@TChAriv1 He's literally just from playing his first game of the season you can't honestly expect him to get it all right after ONE game that's just not realistic.
