I traveled the world for 13 years playing fiddle/rhythm guitar for one of the all-time top recording artists in country music. As rhythm guitar was somewhat forced upon me (fiddle was my forte) this simple lesson would have saved me a lot of heartaches and frustration had I had it at the time. This lesson should be viewed and learned by ALL aspiring guitarists. Great job!
Thanks. Means a lot coming from a professional.
+Tony Reid - that must has given you a certain level of er, Pride.
@@JamieAndersonMusic instead of focusing on strumming focus on the Rythmn of the song strumming patterns don't matters it's the Rythmn of the song that matters
@@anotherbahamianguitarplayer In 20 years of teaching I've found that most students understand strum patterns better than counting rhythm. In fact, most find counting rhythm confusing. When I get the occasional student who responds better to counting rhythm, it usually means they have a background in another instrument.
@@JamieAndersonMusic but I don't have a background in other music instruments

Jamie, thanks so much for these tutorials. I'm 66 I've been playing guitar since I was 12 and I could never get anyone to just give me a straight answer on playing guitar . Since I could not afford lessons early on I had to learn by watching and imitating .I learned more about strumming in the past 10 minutes then I did in the past 10 years.
High compliment, thanks!
Wonderful i have learnt a lot from this.
Not only great on the guitar, but a great voice too 👍👍👍
Thank you very much. They were lovely like yourself. 😗
hands down the best, most simple and most effective guitar lesson about strumming techniques, this is a breath of fresh air compared to the long boring unnecessary talking video lessons that are out there. not to forget her wonderful singing. thanks for the lesson madam.

My pleasure. Glad you found the video helpful.
@@JamieAndersonMusic I am a beginner. Let say I used dduddu pattern on songs, what differentiate its sound on each songs? Is it the speed of strumming and timing?
@@ojsojs6004 The tempo would make it sound different
Thank you Jamie. That was incredibly useful. You sing well. I hope you put out your own version of Piano Man someday. Again many thanks from Vancouver
