    awesome video! could you do a spiderman tutorial? a big thing about spiderman movies is that they use an undermask to define the shape of the head. could you do a tutorial video making a spiderman face shell possibly?

    Finally found the 5 mm foam but the finished helmet was too small for my head. The ear holes were two high above my ears as well. Looks like I'm going to have to modify the plan.

      I did! Lol, the 'do it for the children' bit was because a buddy of mine who has an Iron Man costume and I are volunteering at a children's hospital as Cap and Stark.

    Fuck yeeeeees! Thanks dude. I used the same stencil but with cardboard and it turned out like garbage. This Styrofoam one looks waaay better. Goes with my shield perfectly. Keep up the good work my dude!

    I've never used plastidip before. What is it for? Is it used to make the foam more paintable? Or is it to make the foam more stiff?

    When you are saying to cut 1/4" in from the edge of the pattern, do you mean along the entire length of that edge, or just the distance that you mark off in the video??

      Using the plasty dip and paint will stiffen the helmet but it will still have a little flex

    I have purchased many of your products and a lot of helmets/ masks. On your videos you mainly use contact cement. On the captain America helm you are using hot glue. Which is better in your opinion?

      Hey Carl good to hear from you. This is an early build when I was first learning. I recommend contact cement for most builds however hot glue is good for adding poly foam inside helmets and gluing to fabric Thanks for watching

    Whenever I use a "round object" the foam doesn't concave in enough to make the right shape. Any suggestions?

      You may need to heat the foam longer you can reheat the foam as many times as you need to.

      I use an awata gravity fed airbrush it's around $200.00 if your just getting started I recommend using the airbrush from harbor frate it's around $20.00 it's good for beginners. I use a 2 gallon compressor from home depot thanks for watching

    What's the point of having all the triangle indents on the template if you don't use them on the actual foam?

      +Jason Yung The template originally is for a cardboard build which doesn't have the same flex as foam. In the vid you can see him modify the template (taping the curve indents) for foam.

    Where did you find the foam that is large enough to fit the whole side pieces on one sheet? The largest I can find is 12x18, and the helmet won't fit on that.

    I can not find 5mm foam anywhere not Walmart or Amazon and the 2mm doesn't come in 12x18. Post some material links, but it looks to me you're not even seeing these posts.

      Thanks ! I got my foam at hobby lobby as well. You might try talking to the manager at your store. The store i use has a large selection of colors and thichness selections

    Quick question, could I use like a blow dryer for hair in place of the heat gun? Or will it not get hot enough or something

      I've never used a hair dryer but I think it would work on 5mm foam. You should try it on some scrap foam first good luck.
