Been playing nearly this build (Lotus instead of ice fortress) for several years but I'm so glad it's getting more set love, ever since Frostbite and the changes it resulted in it's been a joy. I really, really wish I could get Icy Conjuror but I've not been able to given DLC, so I've always used Winterborn instead, because the Ice Spike proc sounds incredibly satisfying more than anything. :D ... Come to think on it, I wish that sound and visual was part of a frost morph of the shalks. Anyway, so cool to see ice builds promoted a bit more!

This looks really fun to play! That said, the whole being forced into sub assault thing is why I've always thought that every weapon line should have it's own delayed burst ability. It really sucks when you're tyring to play into a theme, and then reach a point where you have to choose between breaking that theme, or losing a significant chunk of damage. The one that usually trips me up is grim focus on a nightblade. Unless I'm already using a bow I *hate* the animation for grim focus.
I'm sooooo gonna use this. I have a MagDen that's specifically a Cryomancer and while it was good based on another build I followed, it wasn't really solo friendly as a World Boss could easily spank me. I can't wait to try this out! Funny enough, she's a Breton too and that's your 2nd recommendation lol. I might try to solo w/o Pale Order but not Vet Stuff. As far as I'm concerned, if I can solo an easy 4 grp dungeon, I'm happy.
Really like your builds and info vids. Basically a new player on console, so all of your suugestions and advice are incredibly useful. Keep up the good work.
I use frostbite and ysgramor(I can't spell) the extra spell damage to the frost spells makes them hit like a truck and once the enemy is chilled or frozen you hit them even harder, great combo
Thought about using ysgramor but it's such a small boost compared to for example Burning Spellweave. They should make s Burning Spellweave for all three elements

Nice work Lucky Ghost. My frost mage is running Ice Heart, Winterborn, Frostbite. Using only Ice damage on front bar and heals & buffs on back bar. Main attacks are wall of elements, the ice spikes and the ice heal as well as light attacks, and because of Winterborn set an ice spike pops and impales an enemy. Usually by the time you wind up a heavy attack, everything (unless a boss) is already dead. I can mix it up a bit as well, depending on different enemies. Use a light or heavy attack and then the ice spike from Winterborn pops. Very satisfying (The ice spike has saved me in PVP).
I will say this, I subscribed just because you are for sure the first person I turn to about any builds.. Hacks the second.. but you have been a great help in helping me learn of what to do So i do not die, too much..
I legit just made 3 twin toons with an Egyptian look and names to match. One is fire based with looks, one is lightening, the other is frost. I WAS ABOUT TO START THEORY CRAFTING AND YOU THROW THIS OUT HERE 😂😂 saved me the work tho ngl
The key to making an ice warden with all or almost all ice skills, its to make sacrifices. One such sacrifice would be dropping the bugs and frostbite set, then go with night mother’s gaze for your major breach. Then go with icy conjuror or whorl of depths. Use frost clench as a dot (its way stronger as a dot than as a spammable) and pulsar as the spammable (really tough on sustain). Then unstable wall like normal, winter’s revenge like normal, and arctic blast for the heal. Lots of ice, still really strong solo damage, just needs some help on sustain so a breton would be strongest. This kind of build should still quite effectively clear solo content
Nice I got a similar frost warden build, double frost staff 1x charged. It is maybe 3-5% less damage than lightning staff with precise but all the extra slow and also reliable minor brittle/magic steal steal makes it worth and tonnes of choice for sets. I use eye of grasp for northern storm uptime + hexos ward.
I've always felt that the Warden should've been 2 different classes. All the "green" could've been more like the Witchdoctor in Diablo III or Druid and then the winter stuff, of course for an ice mage. And, of course add more spells to each class. I created an Ice mage over a year ago, just for fun. Even have the ice horse and Frost Imp pet. I don't have the monster sets so I'm running Mother's Sorrow 2pc. For the 2 sets I'm running Winter's Respite and Frostbite. She's a lot of fun to play, though seeing this, I'm gonna add a few things I didn't know existed.
I have a Stom Sorc. Sir Sparks Netch's Touch and Mad Tinkerer with Lambris the Netch gold jewelry was the 1st set I upgraded when jewelry crafting was introduced. And a burning spell ring for my mag DK. 1.5 million gold for 4 jewelry
someone over in eso forums made a comment hoping for an ice version set of pillar of nirn. Can you just imagine how satisfying it would be to see ice shards pop out of the ground like how nirn's rock formations do?
Bashei + Frosbite set = extremely powerful icemage plus jelly netch, the only reason I ever run out of sustain is on purpose to make use of bashei Also Ikno this is for magden, but if you grind for aegis caller from unhallowed grave plus rele, 2h back bar with the auto crit skill procs your aegis immediately to start the fight then rele and duel wield on front with the frost skills…..wardens are one of if not my fav class with all the options you have with them I forget the monster sets I use with them tho I just started playing again since about a year and currently trying out DK
Hi, Lucky I'd been using this build for solo content with my Khajiit Warden before without an issue, and noticed that your update for 2023 changed out the Icy Conjurer set for the Assassin Guile, as well as putting in the Master's Ice Staff from DSA. The skills also changed where notably the Deep Fissure morph (magicka based) is used now instead of Subterranean Assault (stam based), as well as Blue Betty being dropped. I've made sure that all the armor pieces are Divines and definitely have the highest Magicka enchantment possible. Since making these changes per your guide, my magicka sustain has dropped like a rock. Would love to hear your thoughts as to what might be missing? Thanks!
Back in the day Ice wardens were heavy armor beasts in PVP/Solo play. Ice furnace was overperforming and a good health set like plague dr buffed your heals and some ice abilities.
Quick note. The video mentions Stamina morph of Sub Assault, but the written version is using Mag. I assumed the Mag was because you aren't using Caltrops for Major Breach. No Caltrops in any Update 33 build makes me second guess whether or not it is really one of your creations, Lucky. ;) Could you clarify which Sub Assault morph you are recommending for this one?
I'd go for the Stam version! more damage, fewer casts, and better for our sustain. Since we are wearing all light our penetration should be ok! (if you need more pen while soloing grab lover mundus instead of thief)
@@LuckyGhost Sounds good! I've incorporated Caltrops into my two pet solo Mag Sorc build, and I absolutely love it. The extra DOT, plus the slow, plus the AOE breach - it is brilliant. Caltrops then Destro Ult is an insane combo. I used it in Banished Cells 2 the other day, and it felt like cheating.
If you are okay with a little less ice but still almost full ice build. I run this with kinras which is still one of the best magdps sets in the game (not including trial gear)
"cool" build ;) sorry couldnt resist lol look forward to trying this on a slot 2, i ran a frost magden and enjoyed it for awhile about 18 months ago and was using iceheart and ysgramor with war maiden (the non frost skills do magic damage) and they worked really well together, just 1 point b4 i thank u for the vid and thats the mention of accelerated growth passive in the green balance tree that would only affect u if u actually used a green balance skill to heal, i like the lotus blossom skill for this as it also gives u 10% crit chance while active and now they increased the duration to 60s its even more worthwhile imo so i would probs switch out the mystic orb if things became a little hairy, cheers for the vid and keep them coming as theyre much appreciated by myself and a lot of others

i have a magic warden question, i am mostly animal tree my attack main bar so do i need biting aura? or are all warden skills considered singe target? none considered AOE? also do master at arms and deadly aim both buff single target skills? are some skills exceptions that only 1 of them buffs it? but this is overall question about all classes and weapons, but answer about warden first
How is this doing on group content? I would love a warden frost but Im really more into group play. Can you do a parse with this and share what you think? Could be viable in vet content, maybe no hm?

hey, just wondering on your build site the warden healers gear has “pillagers profit” but then, underneath it says “pearlescent drops in dreadsail reef” but both of those sets drop in dreadsail reef. So i am wondering which set is the right one to be using before i go and get it.
My only negative for this build is that boss mobs are immune to chill so that means no ice passive to chilled enemies and no minor brittle. I tried running a frost warden granted I'm far from a great player but it really bummed me out to not be able to take advantage the extra Crit damage
I didn't mean to type boss mobs. I meant most dungeon bosses are immune to chill. I found info on Google for this but mostly recalling from my own experience that I have never seen the chill debuff on a boss. Maybe a bit far to say they are immune I have played a chill build for a while and never saw it applied to dungeon bosses
So, I've made a Storm from X-Men character using Redguatds that I'm playing with a lightning staff-wielding ice warden. I might swap my staff to an ice one now 😅
Since we’re now living in the era of the proc sets. I wonder how well would moving icy conjurer to only the backbar and having frostbite on the body, along with icereach and a mythic for front bar and using a masters ice staff on front bar since our spammable is destructive touch anyways
Hey Ghost I got a build request I've had this idea recently but I don't play enough to know what would work. I would like to see if a Nord ice warden Viking/Valkyrie would be possible, this kind of build probably would be a hybrid because Nords don't have the best mag stat's but I would love to see how you would do it.
Lucky Ghost could you please do a build like this but strickly vampire abilities or even gears with vampiric effects?i know you have a solo vampire build on your website but it just doesnt really feel like a vampire you know what i mean?like this build here you did you best to do frost only and it totally feels like a frost build really nice, that would be perfect to do a vampire type of build.
Okay, but - CP , what do I invest into for my CP for this because I have been longing for a frost build. I was originally using Ysgramor and Frostbite but I will be farming for Icy Conjurer.
Any thoughts on Baron Zaudrus for ult generation? Mostly because you're applying status affects all the time. Fully aware of what Icehearts brings. Just curious to know what people think.
i recently thought up a warden tank build focussed on ult generation and it uses the baron zaurdrus to great effect. dont know whether the overall dps increase would outweigh what you get from iceheart though.. its kinda hard to say. possibly i'd say if u needed the shields then ice, for pure damage maybe zaudrus?? either way its certainly not a bad idea :P
Lucky Ghost I am a little confused...the video guide does not match the written guide as far as the skill selections. Example, the written guide says to use Deep Fissure, but the video says to use Sub Assault?? Then you suggest Frost Reach IV, where is that coming from? I clearly must be missing something. Help please and thank you!
I have a very similar build to this one. I use Iceheart + Winterborn + Frostbite. I did use Icy Conjuror, but I switched it out with Frostbite. I think it's a better combo
I would love to see better frost set ups in general. I know wardens are the "ideal Frost mages" however I want anybody to be able to deal decent Frost damage. People rarely used it especially in PvP because it's hard to make it viable. There's more offset to using frost staff and abilities than any other in my opinion. It's kind of a risk reward situation. I'm fine with this but, allow players to build for it.
Used this build when it come out and loved it. Updated it yesterday with the new armour and it doesn't feel the same. Would the old skills/rotation work with the new armour.
I use a Warden Ice tank. So I have Frozen Watcher added to my inventory. Gonna switch out my Ice Furnace for the Frostbite. Already have the Iceheart set. Though my argonian is also a vampire.

You could run vamp with seething fury instead, More damage increase and easy to sustain due to so much heal coming in as nightblade. 👌🏻

I love the idea of elemental identities! Storm Sorc. Frost Warden. Fire DK. We need a water race/class!
I'm using Iceheart + Frostbite + Winterborn for my Frost Warden build and it works great!

Technically you could use Crushing Shock as the frost damage spammable for bosses as it's damage is made up of all three elements.

Frost damage with dots on a warden is pretty op i love using warden with ice enchants and charged gliphs makes his ice damage hit really hard

I made mine a nord because I thought it was cooler, I’m also running heavy armor with frost dmg as I’m the tanker of my duo

Alternative for backbar is the Blackrose icestaff. And use Pulsar instead of Wall.

What is a boss mob? I couldn't find anything on enemies being immune to Chilled. Appreciate your answer!

Is the destructive impact ice staff any good on this set up? Is it maybe possible to back bar icy conjurer to be able to use it?
So, I've made a Storm from X-Men character using Redguatds that I'm playing with a lightning staff-wielding ice warden.
I might swap my staff to an ice one now 😅
I don't know if I missed it in the video, but how does that first green balance passive work if you don't have one of its abilities slotted?
Since we’re now living in the era of the proc sets. I wonder how well would moving icy conjurer to only the backbar and having frostbite on the body, along with icereach and a mythic for front bar and using a masters ice staff on front bar since our spammable is destructive touch anyways
Hey Ghost I got a build request I've had this idea recently but I don't play enough to know what would work.
I would like to see if a Nord ice warden Viking/Valkyrie would be possible, this kind of build probably would be a hybrid because Nords don't have the best mag stat's but I would love to see how you would do it.

aside from themed sets, wouldnt be warmaiden a better choice? like, is frost damage "magic damage"?

Lucky Ghost could you please do a build like this but strickly vampire abilities or even gears with vampiric effects?i know you have a solo vampire build on your website but it just doesnt really feel like a vampire you know what i mean?like this build here you did you best to do frost only and it totally feels like a frost build really nice, that would be perfect to do a vampire type of build.

I was originally using Ysgramor and Frostbite but I will be farming for Icy Conjurer.
Hrothgars chill weapons and jewelry+ frostbite seems like it’d be legit for solo pve for the add waves in vet dungeons

Any thoughts on Baron Zaudrus for ult generation? Mostly because you're applying status affects all the time. Fully aware of what Icehearts brings. Just curious to know what people think.
i recently thought up a warden tank build focussed on ult generation and it uses the baron zaurdrus to great effect. dont know whether the overall dps increase would outweigh what you get from iceheart though.. its kinda hard to say. possibly i'd say if u needed the shields then ice, for pure damage maybe zaudrus?? either way its certainly not a bad idea :P
I always wanted to use swords front bar staff back bar :( just for my inner battlemage love would be dope if it worked on warden

Lucky Ghost I am a little confused...the video guide does not match the written guide as far as the skill selections. Example, the written guide says to use Deep Fissure, but the video says to use Sub Assault?? Then you suggest Frost Reach IV, where is that coming from? I clearly must be missing something. Help please and thank you!
I fixed the written guide (you are indeed using sub assault) and frost reach is what destructive reach turns into when you equip a frost staff.

I have a very similar build to this one. I use Iceheart + Winterborn + Frostbite. I did use Icy Conjuror, but I switched it out with Frostbite. I think it's a better combo

All the maelstrom staves give bonuses to light attack damage when an enemy stands in one of your aoes
I would love to see better frost set ups in general. I know wardens are the "ideal Frost mages" however I want anybody to be able to deal decent Frost damage. People rarely used it especially in PvP because it's hard to make it viable. There's more offset to using frost staff and abilities than any other in my opinion. It's kind of a risk reward situation. I'm fine with this but, allow players to build for it.

Used this build when it come out and loved it. Updated it yesterday with the new armour and it doesn't feel the same. Would the old skills/rotation work with the new armour.

Can I make a Warrior Cryomancer with greatsword in this game?
I use a Warden Ice tank. So I have Frozen Watcher added to my inventory. Gonna switch out my Ice Furnace for the Frostbite. Already have the Iceheart set.
Though my argonian is also a vampire.
