"Every river is a lantern running without oil" Her words are powerful.

We are not proud to be fighting overseas... we just have to do it to protect the men and women who stand next to us... I do what I must to keep the food on my childs plate. I wish more Americans would just stand up and tell OUR government to bring us home. We can't... we have to and must do what we are told or it will be our lives or our battle buddies life on the line.

She is completely, breathtakingly amazing. I'm constantly startled by her words, even though I sometimes wonder if their effect on me will ever lessen over time, like the words of other poets have. I can't help but notice the band on her wrist though. It tears me up that this wonderful, beautiful, amazing woman may be self injuring.

It is better with Sigur Ros- Ara Butar as the backing music.
But it is still poignant here.

You are amazing. I love your work. But as a soldier I feel offend by this particular piece. Although I do not agree with the war effort, I am happy to lay down my life for the American people.
