It would be better if you became a promoter too lots of fighters ended up doing promotions after retiring from competition de la hoya for example, mayweather too i think has his promotion and even manny has his promotion as well.

Agreed. They are doing great work over there in Singapore. I absolutely adore the mixing of MMA, Muay Thai, etc. in one fight card. Their production is fantastic too, it give me massive Pride nostalgia.
They have some phenomenal fighters in lighter weight classes, something other promotions often struggle with, especially in MMA. Those weight classes are often dramatically underappreciated in western promotions, because people prefer to watch big muscular guys, even when they lack technique. As both a small fighter myself and someone who enjoys watching bantamweight and flyweight fights, I can't get enough of ONE.

One fc is revolutionary in many ways. Always exciting to watch. I wish European/North American fans would respect it more

@@selenophile5256 Its what Ive read. But I think ONE is the future of MMA if the money behind them can last long enough. Look into the people who created the promotion: many of them were pro fighters. There are people in ONE who know and love combat sports and I think they have the long game in mind. I sure hope so because they’re better than UFC or Bellator imo. They just need the fans to recognize how awesome they are.

Karate Combat, Lion Fight, PKA back from the Dead, and now ROAD to ONE. Definitely a lot more work needs to be done to ensure that American Kick thrives in the future but currently the future looks bright for American Kick Fighters.

Karate Combat already has a large number of there roster from Pan-America and are looking to sign more North American fighters (including Mexico).

Do you think promoter would be a career for you after fighting? Because I could totally see you excel at that …
Hey Gabriel, if you had to fight in two weeks but your main coach hasn't been able to be at the gym what would you focus on? Long story short, I've only been able to have my assistant coach train me but he only boxes and won't spar with me since he doesn't do kicks. So I haven't been able to spar much, and a lot of the other students in my class aren't really at an intermediate level like I am, not to be arrogant or anything. I've only been able to improve through my own studying and even that I feel won't help a lot. Any advice?
Get the less skilled students to help you work on defense. They attack hard and you defend. Sharpen those skills.
Work the boxing with the assistant coach and kicks on the bag. Clinch with bigger guys in the gym.

Gabriel is one of the most humble fighters out there. Giving us free content and answer our questions. And responses like this one just give people love and power at the same time. Btw my guy I wish you good luck for your fight. Don't think about being unprepared. Think about how much hard work you invested since you started and why are you doing this. Write down every day that you are the best. Mindset a head of a fight is the key to perform better.

What if I join a famous gym like all-star mma which is close to me, do you think that could get me a pro fight easier? Like maybe the coaches there already have a way to get guys pro fights, because having more pro fighters means they would get more money in.
Connections definitely matter ..I happen to have a coach who also has connections with many big organisations in my country and also with one fc ..he says ' I can get you the fights .but you'll have to train hard and prove yourself' ..so yes connections matter ...but more importantly your skills

Generally you will find you may have to prove yourself on some pro bouts first.
When Gabriel was an amateur fighter and had won and then defended ISKA World amateur titles 6 times I believe, ISKA President Cory Schafer told me something that was very true in that although Gabriel was a world class amateur that may roughly equate to being a mid-class pro fighter - but no higher than that.
He told us to take our time and groom him properly and not just dive into pro without a plan as you are fighting all the fighters who were top level amateurs - BUT THEN - they have also proven they are incredibly tough and durable as well.
It is apparent that some pro fighters are better than others - but I know that they are all darn tough people.

East coast?? Man this is good news but Muay Thai is still way too small a sport. I hope the 100 million dollars goes into creating more of an amateur to pro level scene from the ground up in every state. Something that is missing from American kickboxing and Muay Thai compared to boxing and MMA.
