From the 1970's to present, I've flown on every variant and sub-variant of this plane including an Air France SP. The only one missing is an 800 and I have to find a reason to fly Lufthansa before they disappear forever. Truly an amazing feat of engineering and such a joy. I have flown them across Asia, Europe, and Middle East/South Asia. Sometimes the trip is part of the total experience, at least for me. No matter what livery, the plane never disappoints. My last was a Thai Airways advanced 400 in Business. If it was my last, it was a flight to remember. Fabulous airline and a great plane.
The sound of those engines is everything!! I can’t believe they are not going to be around anymore it makes me so sad! My dad worked for TWA! We rode on the 747 to England. It was the same plane that later went down flight 800!
Sadly on the same night, my best friends Dad (My second Dad I used to say) died of a heart attack. I was watching news coverage of TW800 when I got the call.

I see the Lufthansa 747 on a daily basis. The odd time, I end up working on an aircraft next gate over and always spend an extra few seconds staring at it than I would any other aircraft!
