Yeah its because after like some driving let's say about 150.000 Km. Or even earlier the Car suddenly starts to consume a lot more engine oil than before! In germany there is a lot of VW Group customers with a lot of Audi's that consume above 1,95 liters engine oil on 1000 Km. Which is according to the manual and the company itself almost twice above the limit. They say such high consume leads to engine failure (engine death, etc.) and should be taken care of, but they refuse to pay it so they say the customer should pay... Even though an engine technical company in germany examined the engine (the 1,4 TFSI and other TFSI's) and found an obsolete technology used in the engine's valves combustion... Its the cylinder ring that is supposed to stripe the remaining oil so it doesnt get burned in the expansion (explosion) process of the engine. Now they have such smal holes in theese rings that are on the cylinders. The problem is (and in this case its questionable whether itsa problem) that the holes are to small! This causes the holes to get full of burned oil coal and other stuff, and makes them useless. Waht leads to that, the oil cant be striped out of the burning chamber before the ignition. Thus leading to, that the oil gets burned, which causes the TFSI engine to drink up to 2 liters per 1000 Km... And thats like you would have to spend another 2 fuel tanks just for damm engine oil (Course depending what oil you use, if you would use Shell's Longlife Helix Ultra which costs heere like 36€ for 1 Liter, you end up pretty in cash...) By the way Audi doesnt realy want to accept that they use 1970's tech in the cylinders and offcourse that dont want to pay the repairs... And it even seems that they dont realy know whats going up, cause they fail with all repairs they do on theyre own... So... Keep an eye on that oil consumption, and if its above 1 liter per 1000 Km. Try to get Audi to repair it, people succeded with this in the US. Or get rid of the car, before you spend another one into expansive engine oil.

Did you experience issues in your Audi sir ? I heard and read in forums and websites according to Americans and Europeans Audi is not reliable. In other words sirain ang Audi compared to most of the European cars.
Hello! This particular unit only experienced typical issues from wear and tear such as a worn-out transmission flywheel, and noisy (knocking sound) brakes and shock absorbers. Other than that, nothing worse has happened in the past 7 years.
I own this vehicle. one of the worst purchasing decisions i EVER made! The oil consumption is extremely high and had to replace the piston rings for 7k. Had to replace the spark plugs, engine coils, and water pump twice. This vehicle is a garbage. Stay away at all cost!
It is a lottery, if you purchased it as an used vehicle..mine had all the pistons replaced entirely at 187k km, including the timing chain and other related parts..but the problem is now solved
1.8L engine for how much? lol.. i bet this car is around 3.5M mark. the cost of maintenance is bad also. id just settle with a camry or an accord with a bigger v6 engine for 2/3 the price! with cheap maintenance. plus replacement parts are readily available.
Hi, we purchased the car for Php 3,080,000, as a replacement for a Honda Accord. After 6 years with us, we can definitely say that maintenance is cheaper than the Honda, and even our Honda CR-V. This basic 1.8T trim has only 160hp but definitely feels powerful and can reach 170 kph with ease. Also, this is in a whole different segment with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, so they are not comparable.

Was there any trouble with the oil consumption lately? I heard that this TFSI engines had some kind of issue's with that? Have you expirenced that?
Hello! Didn't really think of it as a problem though we have to refill the oil at least once or twice a month.

@phillip perkins Hello! This car is driven almost 200 km every day so we really expect it to consume a lot more oil.

Are these cars reliable enough? I wanna buy an A4 from this generation with either 1.8 or 2.0 Gasoline engine…thanks whoever reply 👍
The 1.8t is okay but the 2.0t is horrible in reliability plus it consumes oil like crazy
the 1.8t also leaks oil like crazy, better avoid 2010-2012 audi cars
@@turbografx.16 so both of you guys think an 2.0 TDI it’s a safer decision? Im cosindering that too tbh
