Gluto’s Link gives me the same vibes as Zackray’s pit. There and a lot of technical to both characters,but they are mostly just using fundies than anything. It just goes to show how good Gluto is
As a link main, it's amazing to see a link doing this well. And he's winning with just fundies, so once he masters more link tech and gets those bomb recoveries more consistent, I think we'll be seeing Gluto get some crazy wins soon.
Apparently Gluto said in a tweet that he didn’t have any gameplan in mind during the tournament and that’s crazy to me that he can perform that well without a gameplan
I'm a Link main. Gluttony, like most Link mains likes to do nair into grab at low percent. The problem with this is that Link's grab is crappy. If you nair slightly later than you normally would it combos into down tilt which combos into up b. He should have down this at 22:06, but in general he has been whiffing the grab in that classical Link setup. That combo I mention is true on the entire cast until like 50%. I often hit it twice in a row and they are suddenly at like 80%. He also needs to start doing bair-1 into reverse up-b not up-tilt. Love seeing Link be piloted by someone so good though.
hey esam, id like to see these tournament vods and the name of them in your video descriptions when you do these analyses. i think it'd be great for helping us viewers find the tournament / set, and good for the events too!
Gluto needs to get good at bomb recoveries first. He misses a ton of them. There's also the Z drop trains, but that's less important. Maybe if he really learns Link and uses him seriously as a secondary at majors he might carry him to high tier like T used to.
@@Ed_AlphA Gluto's Link is probably the most competitive link we've got in years and he doesn't do the 0tD (and he probably won't). Prime T only did some fair trains here and there. Prime Rido was more of a stage control beast. I don't think we'll ever see something of that sort at top level play ever. Not because it's impossible, but because it is way more important to just get better at the game. Specially with Link, who's a mid character outside of a few really good moves, like nair. Nair is as good, but it's way easier and consistent to exploit, so people decided to just do that. Link is kind of waiting for a savior right now: Someone who's fundamentally good at the game first, and an execution freak second. It is highly unlikely that this hipothetical dude will ever come up, in my opinion: Most current top tiers tend to give you more reward for far less effort. I'm really exited about Gluto's link tho. If he does well at majors he would be showing in practice how good link's traditional playstyle can work in the current meta. Can't wait.
Tbf gluto defo would not have beaten susu if it weren’t for the controller disconnects, so this really isn’t the best example of gluto’s link being real lol
