- Suntory adds to its support for the Great East Japan Earthquake Recovery Effort by bringing together 71 volunteer artists to sing and boost people's morale. This video is an end to end edit of the 30 and 60-second TV commercials that feature singers and actors performing parts of "Ue wo Muite Arukou" & "Miagete Goran Yoru no Hoshi wo". The 2 Japanese classics were popularized by Sakamoto Kyu during the early 60s.

その当時、このCMを見て震災で凄く落ち込んだ気持ちだったけど、同時に日本人で良かったと心から思えた。

芸能どころでない事態になった時、それでも芸能が必要だと思わせてくれた日本芸能史上最高のエンターテインメント、CMだと思う。
コロナなんてこの時の比ではない。大丈夫。

2011年3月11日14時46分に発生した東日本大震災への応援メッセージTVCM。
当時、サントリー社の各種コマーシャルに出演していた方々が無償で参加されたと聞いています。また放映が震災から多くの時間が経たずでの放映でした。
そして選曲がすばらしいです。
何より出演されている方々の歌がその巧拙ではなく、ひたむきに歌う声に感動しました。
ありがとうございます。
風化しないように、この日にコメントを残す。3年前はこの動画を見てどれだけ奮い立たせられたことか。感謝。偽善だろうが何だろうが、宮城県に住む自分はこれを見て、あの時を思い出し、明日からまた頑張ろうと思う。

Ue o Muite Arukō , to jedna z najpiękniejszych piosenek jakie słyszałem , a śpiewający ją ludzie pokazują, że wszyscy jesteśmy krewnymi i tego nie zmienią ani odrębność rasowa , ani kulturowa, ani odległość dzieląca nasze domy. Wszyscy śmiejemy się i płaczemy jednakowo.

色々と批判も多いですし、自分の中でもコイツはないだろうって人も出ていますが、それぞれに味があり、あの頃の日本を元気づけたのは事実です。
出演されている方もサントリーから出演オファーが来たときは名誉に感じたのでは？
それにしても、サントリーは何故ホームページ上でのこのCMの公開を止めたのか？風化させないためにも続けるべきでは
坂本九という人は、やはり偉大な歌手でした。それを思い出す映像と歌です。それを上回る人は出て来ないでしょう。

やはり 役者さんが歌うと 歌詞が言葉が飛び込んで 一層あの時の 思いに行き着く 過去が色んな口を使って 歌っている時の思いを乗せて

Hace años escuché por primera vez el tema SUKIYAKI, del maestro Kyü Sakamoto y quedé fascinada. Aprendí la fonética de la canción y la sé, y como quedé fascinada con este compositor, cantante, músico, etc., busqué más temas, entre ellos Miagete goran yoru no hochi wo, luego Soshite omoide, y dos más, Ashita ga aru sa. Pero la que no he vuelto a encontrar es el vídeo de Soshite omoide, y no tengo con quien conseguirlo. Ví la película sobre la vida de Kyü y su familia y su muerte trágica siendo joven todavía. Mis saludos cordiales a todos ustedes, por recordármelo tan fielmente. Desde Chile, Coquimbo, 25 de febrero de 2018. Señor El Tiburón Grande, ¿tendría en sus archivos el tema Soshite omoide, donde Kyü le canta a unos niños, que no recuerdo si eran sordos o sordomudos y él le trasmitía la canción mediante señas también. Today(August 12, 2022) is the 37th anniversary after the death of Kyu Sakamoto.
I found on UA-cam his last voice and singing before his tragic death on the same day.
The public recording of NHK-FM radio ''Song Special - Kyu Sakamoto'' occurred in the afternoon August 12. 1985.
Kyu-san was the host and main singer of the show.

Too tragically and sadly, Kyu-san died in a terrible airplane crash only a few hours later from the radio show.
