Many cities send out notification to their residents during political season advising residents of the rules regarding political signs being in the city's and the county's right of way. Just like your fired inspector, Hennepin County collects the signs in the right of way on county roads and holds on to them. They have information on their website where you can report signs in the right of way and where the owners of those signs can come and pick them up. Sounds like Orono should communicate better with their residents....and I guess the Mayor/Council folks.
