That was actually so cool! Crazy how much Shortland street has evolved and improved not only in the production value but the story telling and acting. Hopefully we have many more years of stories and awesome cliffhangers like the one we had last night!

IIRC there was a storyline about one or two years in (either ‘93 or ‘94) when they started saying Kia Ora Shortland Street. Marj wasn’t happy about it at first but she got over it
I’m pretty sure “Kia ora Shortland Street” didn’t come until 1996/1997 because I remember I started answering our home phone with Kia ora in my second year of high school because I thought it was cool on the show lol.
It's funny how the one Aussie on the show was the only one who could pronounce "Ropata" correctly. Everyone else seems to be on the understanding it's "Ropaarta."
