The best tip I can give when it comes to African Cichlids is not to change their died at all. Start with one food (maximum of 3 types) and keep feeding that. Do not change it and you will not have problems as long as the water quality is good. I feed my fish NLS the new type probiotics and never had problems with bloat. And just be carefully what you add, some species can tolerate others, while some are very aggressive.
I usually feed them spirulina tabs 2 times per week. This is done to stimulate activity more. Normal spirulina flakes each day, with 1 day per week pause time so they don't get to fat and comfy.
@@cichlidspecies thanks for reply sir.. i tried sticking a tablet on the glass and they (1.5" fry) did not bother to bite or suck on it. I removed it when it melted.

@@invain143 Yeah, they need some incentive first. Probably when they are bigger they will get more curious and will go for food like that.
