@@damnationdan5253 he was harassed pretty harshly after he left from the entire 40k community. Of course these days not anymore. But back then yeah just cause he didn't want to be a sellout to whoever it was that was in charge of the animation company/group.
Spartans shined best at direct action, being on the offensive. So that's why those two Spartan-IIIs charged the Brutes out in the open because they figured it would buy more time. And the red armored Spartan-III female that's seen limping away possibly could have survived and made it off the planet, but it is highly unlikely considering the state she is in.
And yes, this whole animation was made by one person. Before this he was mostly known for his Warhammer 40k animations, but Games Workshop wanted to cop him and use him for their own greed, but he refused. Majority of the Warhammer community for whatever reason was upset with him and basically cast him out. So he moved on to better things like STALKER, Titanfall, Halo, and other franchises.
I wish he was still making Warhammer stuff, but seeing as how Games Workshop basically claims anything and everything that's Warhammer, notice that I did not say own, they'll just take down his hard work, which they've tried, but people have been reposting his Warhammer stuff in spite of Games Workshop's policies.

A shame the wad hammer community treated him like that. As a warhammer fan, I apologize, even though I just discovered Sodaz recently. It’s a shame he took down his warhammer animations, because if they were half as good as his Reach animation, it’s amazing. But I understand him doing so.

Before he was hired by GW, he posted a video about 4 animations that he would do in order following the community and only one of them was made just as he was approached by GW, it was Death Korps of Krieg one. do ya wanna know what the other 3 were? A continuation for siege imperial fist animation, a space wolf one and a *fucking grey knights and doom slayer crossover...*
Shame we will never see these glorious works ever be realized...

17:17 Well it's hard not to want to be a Spartan in halo, but you really wouldn't want to be a Spartan-II or a Spartan-III the safest would be the Spartan-IVs
Because Spartan-IIs were kidnapped at the age of six, indoctrinated and made to be super soldiers, their whole purpose in life is to fight and kill in war for Humanity, plus Master Chief and rest of the Spartan-IIs knew they were taken and Doctor Halsey didn't keep the truth from them, she didn't erased their memories either she told them they couldn't return to their families anymore and their new family is their fellow Spartans, three did try to escape a few times but failed these three would become Spartan Grey Team. Some others did escape but when they found out they were replaced with clones some committed suicide while the others returned back to the Program to continue on training to become Spartans.
The Spartan-IIIs were orphans most were six years old some even younger, they lost their families to the covenant and their homeworlds destroyed, Spartan-IIIs were made to be expendable, even though they were genetically enhanced to be faster and stronger but they weren't equipped with Power Armor only SPI armor that made them invisible. Hundreds of Spartan-IIIs sent deep behind Covenant territory on suicide missions to destroy a target and each time the mission was a success but casualty rate was always 100%, only a few who showed qualities similar to their Spartan-II counterparts were taken out of these Suicide missions and put in special groups and given mjolnir power armor like the members of Noble Team from Halo Reach, everyone in Noble Team besides Jorge who is a Spartan-II are Spartan-IIIs.
Spartan-IVs from Halo 4, Halo 5 and Halo Infinite are all adults recruited from different branches of the UNSC military, some are former marines or ODSTS before recruited into the Spartan-IV program, so they can somewhat retire and have a life and returned to their families.

@@Super50ldier Well the Spartan supersoldeirs of the Halo franchise were inspired by the Adeptus Astartes/Space Marines of Warhammer 40k
Both Halo Spartan and 40k Space Marines were trained as children then genetically enhanced to become super soldiers in power armor that enhances their already enhanced strength and speed made to be the defenders of humanity.

This animation was perfect to the theme and feel of reach from the growing hope you have at the beginning then the steady fall of that hope and that piano part as the mac round hits really hits you right in the feels
There's something about reach's campaign that makes defending reach feel personal.
Facts
My headcanon is that Noble 6 killed all of the Covies who assaulted the base that this Spartan team was stationed at, I'd like to think that 6 avenged these Spartans.

different headcanon is the base this spartan team was protecting is the same base Noble 6 holed up at in Objective:Survive, considering there's a whole lot of materiel (and dead spartans) left behind, and it's particularly close to the salvage yards that the pillar of autumn was anchored at

A good 70-80% or so, I'd say, of the voices in this are actually from Halo Reach itself, both in the game and lines that are only in the files.
It's pretty awesome.
The VO they got to do the extra work though are top notch as well.
If you'll noice, when they break cover at the Last Stand, they run in a straight line and MORE OR LESS remain static in the field, reducing the chance of friendly fire. And, since they're so much more heavily armed and armored, they reduce the numbers coming in straight against the defensive line, letting the Troopers dish out more damage. it IS a risk, but a tactical one.
For anyone who likes Fallout that is what Sodaz is working on next looks to be a Brotherhood of Steel animation.
I feel this animated movie honors most definitely the Halo titles before 4,5 and Infinite, seeing how the Old Bungie Halo fanbase wants to return to that traditional writing stance & musical scores from the early 2000s that many younger people don't know about yet. What I loved more is how the Marines & ODSTs still played a critical role in the Spartans' success on the battlefield and that they weren't used poorly to shine how the Spartans did absolutely everything. It was, moreover, a team effort for humanity to survive and enable the Pillar to evac successfully.
