Just want to say it's refreshing to see someone who just delivers straight up, no over the top or try hard bullshit. Nice work man sounds sweet, more of the same
Friend introduced me to this band a few months ago, this has quickly become one of my all time favourite songs and i am so grateful your video exists, thank you so much for making my day
Thank you so much man! I plan on making some new videos, hopefully soon...but in the mean time, here is a link to my band! facebook.com/ScarsicBand ua-cam.com/users/ScarsicBandvideos
Damn, awesome cover bro! You really play with confidence. I have one question: Why are your toms set up in that angle? I try to set mine as flat as possible because I have the feeling my hits lose power when they are set in an angle like that. Keep it coming I subbed!
+kickfliprik Hey, thank you for watching!! I just have my kit set up in a way that I find most comfortable for my playing style. But I have, since then, changed up my kit quite a bit. I still prefer the angled toms, but have played on other drummer's kits where the toms are flat, as you mentioned. I think it truly comes down to preference. I hope this was somewhat helpful :)
Thank you!! The snare is triggered, as are the rest of the drums. My brother Chris Breen and I recorded and produced the drums for the video, prior to shooting the footage. I'm pretty sure we used the same triggers (or a variation of) the same drum triggers we use for my band Scarsic Band
Cool man! Are you realy feel some snare drum pulse here in verse, or sometimes just remember where to play snare and this hihat pattern, that sometimes go crazy. And again, do you feel all of this, or just think about like 4+4+4+3 (i understand this rhythm only this way)? Wanr to ask karnivool sometimes, for me they are geniuses, but yet can't formulate my question =)
oldfreeman566 This song was definitely a challenge! To my understanding, their guitarist Andrew Goddard wrote and tracked drums on this album. Their music is definitely complex, and the fact that he had the ability to write this song is very impressive. Whether he considers himself more of a drummer or a guitarist or just a well-rounded overall songwriter and musician, Karnivool is an extremely talented band. Thanks for watching! :) Cheers!
Thanks for watching man! All crashes are Sabian AAX. From behind the kit - 16" AAX Sabian Studio Crash (to the far left), 18" AAX Sabian Xplosion Crash (to the right), and 17" AAX Metal Chinese Cymbal (to the far right).
