I still believe Detox would have been a monster of an album
after 15 years it was hyped too much. nothing but dissapointment no matter what.

After that laffy taffy, Crank That, 2006 was the worst selling year of Hip Hop records. Taste had changed, the musical landscape had changed.
People started downloading music, so I don't blame him for not releasing it.
By the time Kush came out the audience had grown old and the current buying public were born in the early 2000s, so they didn't understand the significance of detox. Already again the taste had change the music had changed.

Dr dre is the worst procrastinator I have ever seen. He announced detox and made a huge advert about it and the album never came out. Detox is the most popular album that never came out.

Dr. Dre’s Compton was not to memorable imo. Perhaps it was Al the anticipation I had for it, but the detox leaks went hard.
Dre in the past was never financially stable which forced him to release material. As soon as he didn’t have to make music for money, his productivity dropped off. I bet the two chronics weren’t up to his standard either, but he needed to fulfill contracts.
