Man, I hadn't heard an album with this much truth in it in years, if ever to be honest. A fellow editor on Genius turned me on to Tom a few weeks ago and it's pretty much all I've been playing in the house, in the car, on my phone, etc. The only song that I have any issue with is American Dreamz, and it's some very specific things he says in it that I don't agree with. But I respect his opinion, and I understand why he holds them (mostly being Canadian and being subject to a lot of propaganda there). He's saying things that I've been thinking about for quite a long time now, on the societal side and in the rap industry. Not only are these songs on Deathreats full of truth he actually has some great flow, fwiw.
I agree with you though, this song did seem a bit short with just 48 bars (2x 24 bar verses). To me Tom is the 2nd best thing to come out of Canada, the first being Jordan B Peterson (not necessarily because I agree with everything he says, but because he at least tries to address the issues beyond surface level). You should check out his "The Way I Am" remix (I posted the first verse on another video of yours in reply to someone's comment and IIRC you gave my comment a heart), he talks about why he doesn't want to sign with a label on the track (and several other topics he's hit throughout the album), plus it's pretty damn lit too.
