I just bought a 1998 Quadrunner 500. Seller said it was running good a couple months ago. When I got there to buy it it wouldn't run right or for very long. Poor idle and back firing. Your video helped out tremendously. Turns out that there was nothing wrong with my petcock as suggested by other videos. The vacuum line from the carb to the petcock got too hot and the vacuum collapsed the line. No vacuum no gas unless you keep it on Prime. The carb looked brand new but I took it apart anyway. Thanks to your video I found that the air/fuel screw was put together in the wrong order and I moved the clip on the main jet to the 3rd spot. Runs like a champ now. Thanks for the detailed instruction on carb components.
Thank you for explaining about the overflow spout at the bottom of the carb. Mine had no hose connected to it and I always wondered why my cylinder head was stained. Nice easy fix.
I used your video to help me clean my carb on my 250 quadrunner. It was filthy inside and out all went well. I found that the spring was missing for the main needle on the diaphragm. I stretched out a spring from a retractable pen and it made a good temporary fix.

Hi, Great Video! Helped me take apart and clean my carb. Can you do a video on removing the front Diff from the quad and taking it apart? My front diff is broken and when i run the machine it sounds like something is shaking around really loud. Trying to fix to get the 4x4 working again but am clueless when it comes to this. Thank you!
Thanks for the video, been looking for something for my 1997 Arctic Cat Bearcat 454, luckily they used the Suzuki engine because I wasn’t finding much searching for Arctic cat
Thanks for an informative video. Helped me in my repair today. Question: How in the world does one screw in the plastic holder on the choke cable once the carb is reinstalled? I haven't seen any videos on this and there is simply no way to get your fingers, let alone a wrench, on the cable end to leverage any power to screw this cable end into the carb. You mention the cable being a plastic end, just wondering if you had any tips on the cable install or a video I haven't seen? Thanks
I'd agree. Junk design. I will say they screw in easy tho! use your fingers to get is most of the way in and the last 1/4 turn (shhhhhhhhh) us a pair of needle nose pliers. Don't tell a real mechanic you are using pliers on a plastic nut tho. ;)
My 1994 Suzuki LT250 Quadrunner has a Mikuni BST31SS carburetor. Can you please recommend a quality carburetor rebuild kit? Thank you. You do an excellent series of videos, please keep up the great work.
Have a question for you When you took out needle you took plastic washer from under clip and when put back together you dropped it on top. Where is correct position
A friend bought one but now it won’t even start but try’s to Going to order rebuild kit and try to fix it, have adjusted valves and check timing ok Think it’s flooding and back firing some times Any advice welcome 🤗
Hello, I've cleaned the carb with your help of this video. I replaced the jets, float, needle valve and seat. Never touched the fuel air mixture needle, because when it ran last it was fine. I sprayed carb cleaner through everything and then compressed air. I put back together, float bowl is filling with fuel, but fuel isnt reaching the spark plug, its dry. I dont what else to do? Any help would be appreciated.
Greetings I would like to know how reliable are these atv if they are good in general if they do not have common faults and if you recommend them because I want to buy one?
Jet cleaning kit = welding torch tip cleaner. I don’t have a need to do a carb video since this one is well done. Do you have a valve adjust video for this machine? Maybe I’ll make one of those.
For sure. Let us know if you have questions on this Suzuki. Also check out: ua-cam.com/video/7Yisjqr9obU/v-deo.html and if you need parts: www.ebay.com/str/midnebraskamotorsports
Great video! I have a 99 quad runner ltf250f. The carb your showing is almost identical except my hose ports are different. I bought it from someone with carb problems an they took it apart before I got to it. Having difficulties identifying where these hoses go. Any suggestions?
Hey me too! I got a early 90's LT-F250 recently. This carb is pretty damn close. The carb in mine is a Mikuni BST31. He covered the important ports. ' Fuel in' port is the same. The air line back to the petcock (that he said he had to double check) is exactly that and is the same on my carb.
Great video! I ride in the mountains of Utah around 7-10 k feet elevation. Do you have any recommendations for fuel air screw adjustment or jet sizing?
Thanks for a great video! Can you recommend a good carb rebuild kit for my 1999 Susiki LT 500 Quadrunner? It spits and sputters when accelerating but runs well at idle with no starting issues.
I use all balls, about 37 dollars a couple days ago I got a kit. Comes with the seat for the float needle which a lot of kits don't come with and also new screws for bowl. The top piece and for the float seat.
Working on a 2002 Suzuki quadrunner 500 4x4. First I need to find the carburetor and I'd really love to know where the spark plug is. I'm not a mechanical idiot, I restore classic Chevy trucks. My Father bought this machine to plow snow. Now I see why I'm not a power sports mechanic
It can also be a broke pet cock set to primer, you should do a video where you change out the pet cock and carb to regular ones without all vacuum shit. Simple is always better
My quad runs and idles great but it will not start unless I hit the throttle. The choke seems to be working and helps it start cold but it will not start unless i give it throttle. Also when it is running and warmed up if i put the choke on full it will stall. I give it a little throttle and it starts right up and idles great. Runs great. What's going on?
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports it idles great though. Sometimes I've recently found it will start without throttle. I stepped my idle up and it helped. Should a cleaner like seafoam work?
When you pulled the needle out there was a larger plastic washer laying there, you said I will show you where it goes when we put it together. You didn’t show . I have one laying here anyone tell me?
Any suggestions on where to get a repair manual for 2005 Artic Cat 400 4x4 FIS Auto? I have a downloaded one from emanual. I think I could get a better manual than this one.

Any vids of putting the carb back on, pulled carb off, need to kno where to hook hoses back
This relates to what I have 00'LT500AF so I like this video because these models are notorious for carb issues and fires ...
Hey I know it's been a while but what should the idle screw be set to? Should I close it and adjust it from there?

When you took out needle you took plastic washer from under clip and when put back together you dropped it on top. Where is correct position

Where is the rag that tells what model and year along with engine ??
The oil filter sticks up and not toward front end, fuel tank right fender area??

I found out it goes between the needle and the spring. keeps the needle from falling back when it turns upside down.
