2023 Aviation Summit Future Connectivity: Panel 1 From Innovation to Implementation

In the vision for tomorrow’s aviation connectivity, datalink will be an essential component in supporting trajectory based operations supported by state of the art and future proofed technologies. Defining technical enablers for operational needs and bringing those to a consensus standard is a significant effort and achievement. But a published standard is not the final step to deployment. What else is required to bring a standard to implementation in order to obtain the envisaged benefits?
This panel will further explore the vision, its challenges and opportunities, what could be the path from today to the implementation of these new technologies and what role standardization must play in helping enable these technologies, assuring the performance and securing a safe, efficient and interoperable global system of the aviation long term connectivity.
