Don’t let Brian see this comment but does he read or just look at the pictures? Me? I love fly fishing books for the pictures. Have an incredible day folks. Thanks for bringing content like this to me.
Have you read Pavlov’s Trout, the incomplete psychology of everyday fishing, by Paul Quinnett? Great book, definitely puts a smile on your face and helps you justify the addiction to family members!!
Cicada, I have seen trout eat one one time. I threw living cicadas to rising trout and they didn't eat it. I threw in ants and they ate them. Same thing with lantern flies. Josh Miller is a fishing god. This guy knows his stuff. I used some new tios from Josh today I caught trout Everytime I try them. Rick's modern Spey fishing was just awesome. Highly recommend.
Thanks for watching. We do have some videos here on the channel with trout devouring Cicadas. They usually LOVE them. Actually running a few Cicada trout trips this Summer through the shop.
@Madriveroutfitters Absolutely, besides my best friend, you and your channel have been a go-to paradigm. I am forever grateful for your teachings and approach. Kind regards from Maryland.
Love george daniel, hate his books. Very well done fluff, problem is the tons of pictures are completely useless. Also the books are poorly organized and very rambling. Yet another book, feels like a money grab. Sorry its true.
Tons of great updated information in this one and we found it very well done…..as you say. Maybe Brian likes lots of pretty pictures? Thanks for watching.
Hi I'am desesperate. You don't like euro nymphing !!!😢 Because you don't practice in thé good rivers. Big river IS not thé best playground. Thé best IS thé 30 foot river. With a good incliné. There are with these caractéristics, création if lot différents currents deepers speed low rocs etc And in this configuration thé tactic IS révélate in thé light!!! And thé best place IS french rivers and spanish (natural fish) and others!!!
Reading Guide to finding trout right now, terrific book with lots of info.
Already a "must read" for any trout angler.

We believe that he actually reads these books and don't worry....he won't see this!
Thanks for adding to my reading list!!

"On the Stream with Joe Humphreys," the best fly fishing book I have ever read, and I own quite a few books.
Agreed! Thanks for watching.
Try Jim Wynn's flies for the river Wharfe, niche but also you should come fish the Wharfe in Yorkshire England.
Thanks for sharing! Will look into.
Hi Brian. Love your videos. Do you have a book on how to fly cast or could you recommend one for me? Thanks Brian. Mark.
Thanks for watching. Feel free to call or e-mail Brian at the shop and he’ll of course be happy to help.
And once I get through the last four John Gierach books I bought I'll pounce on a couple of those!
Thanks for being here!
Big fan of T Rose!
Same here! Been selling his books for 30+ years now!
@Madriveroutfitters Tom's so laid-back I think he takes Valium to wake up in the morning!
Greetings from a Colombian angler
Greetings!
josh greenberg from Gates has written excellent books.
Yes....we have done a few reviews on his books here on the channel. Brian is a BIG fan!
When Brian says books are the best way to learn about fishing he means second tonMRO videos, right.
Right!?!.
Well....he doesn't watch our videos so he's stuck with books!
Cicada the only fly you need this year
That might be a bit extreme? Gonna be a fun year though in parts of the country.
The Unreasonable Virtue of Fly Fishing by Mark Kurlansky
Thanks for sharing. Will pass along.
Theoretical and practical application are vastly different.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching. He did not say that he didn’t like Euro Nymphing! Just that he was not very good at it….but learning.
Because euro nymphing ain’t fly fishing
We try to keep opinions like that to a minimum around here. You surely noticed?
