    Its April 2021 and these videos are worth more than gold. I just bought a 96 F250 7.3L Powerstroke and will watch these videos over and over. RIP Ron. You seemed like a genuinely cool dude.

    I love this tool. I have the genuine but never use it. This is far superior and yes Angelo is a great guy to deal with.

    Just a note, I watched your other video about the 7.3 injector wiring harness,and when i did a troubleshoot on mine I found a problem with the ground leads on the 1 and 3 connector, so I fixed it and it purrs like a kitten again and no more smoke, Thanks so much for your great videos.

    Hey Ron, great video. I saw another video with the same tool where they put a penny in the cup prior to removal so no shavings go in the hole. Gotta do this to my 7.3. Really enjoy the quality of your videos. Keep them coming.

    Should definitely mention taking out the glow plugs and Rollin over the motor to push out oil too prevent hydro lock before you put everything back together

    Could you make a video or have you already made one that shows how to drain the fluids for injector install so I don't hydro lock the motor down.

    Is there a cure time for the loc-tite or can you run the engine right away.

    Awesome video. I noticed you said the symptom of bad sleeves is fuel in the coolant, I have a 96 7.3 and I changed glows, gaskets, and plugs, and added a product called Hot Shot Secret, Now I have Fuel leaking into the engine oil and it smokes like crazy, blue smoke at idle and plumes of white smoke in drive.Rebuilt HPOP, IPR, new injector rings, fuel lines and lift pump, but the issues remain. Any ideas what might cause these problems. Thanks again for the great video.

    would it possible for diesel to come out from a crack in the head into the cooling system? because I had a mechanic do the cups but it failed. he claimed it was a bad head

  • @blackbobby19973
    @blackbobby19973 9 років тому

    ya know this is all well and good... i did all this and still have a " leak ". but the injector cups are FINE. you see a year ago i rebuilt the engine. machinist " pressure tested heads " ok the held pressure i guess.
    yesterday i was putting in new o rings on injectors after replacing cups AGAIN, i just HAPPEN to leave the cooling system pressurized @ 14 lbs for 3.5 HOURS... i went to install the rear pass injector and LOW AND BEHOLD ....... coolant dripping ( about 1 drip every 40 seconds ) from the FUEL RAIL .... Right above the injector cup. so my point is good if this fixes it BUT this is not ALWAYS the case, cast cylinder heads WILL CRACK for whatever reason, like i said mine was dripping every 40 seconds pressurized at 14 lbs for almost 4 hours and i just happen to catch that it had an internal crack in the head

    what other seals needs to be changed while doing this ? Valve cover ? intake gasket ?
    anything else ? I get the cup removal and install but whats else should I purchase before I tackle this job ?

    We changed the cups and did everything like the video. The problem is we are still getting diesel in the antifreeze. Could their be something else wrong. Thanks

      +Scott Hay check for an internal crack in the coolant passage or fuel rail, this is what is happening to mine RIGHT NOW, i had the cooling system pressurized to 14 lbs for almost 4 hours and found a 40 second drip coming from the fuel rail. ( coolant dripping out fuel rail ) right ABOVE when the injector cup sits.

    how do you keep trash from falling in the cylinders when u use. The wire brush. To clean out the before installing the new cups? A penny again?

      I suppose grease, or shaving cream would work to grab the shavings so they dont fall in.

    Hi Ron - i recently did my injectors with the tool rented from RiffRaff Diesel - things went ok, i thought, but im getting a pretty decent amount of smoke from the exhaust while driving now. Black-ish when light throttle, black when heavy throttle. Any thoughts? i REALLY dont want to pull all those cups again!!!

    question, how do you get all of the oil out of the cylinders?

    • @DieselTechRon
      @DieselTechRon  8 років тому +2

      if needed I use my mighty vac and a small tubing to suck it out. if you're desperate you can bump it over work the glow plug out. If you bump it over please be aware that it may be a big mess and a projectile. I stick a large fender cover over it to stop it from painting everything with oil for two city blocks. including the floor. Maybe a few bolts and the valve cover back on would be better.

    • @dancarlin5434
      @dancarlin5434 8 років тому

      +DieselTechRon thanks i'll give that a try, i couldn't get the tubing to go down either the glow plug or injector hole's, also any tips on the driver rear valve cover bolt?, that thing is a nightmare.

    i'd bet on blown headgaskets. Get someone to check the coolant system pressure with a gauge on the coolant bottle. It shouldn't rise above 7 PSI at Wide Open Throttle if i am correct. if it reads 15 PSI at Wide Open Throttle and then it "bleeds off", thats the coolant cap releasing pressure to protect the cooling system. Get that bottle replaced then have the cooling system pressure checked to see if it's headgaskets. Visit Powerstrokehelp's channel. he has a video on testing 6.0 headgaskets

I say over and over to walk it on and multiple times I say not to roll it idiot. you try to act smart but you show how stupid you are. Try listening and saying thanks. Better yet post something and do somethig constructive. It's easy to tear down and insult thats why you do it. too bad you failed. Lets see your post.
