@Jane Smith Hmm I tried talking about health and environmental aspects but I always seemed to end up in discussions of "but I read once that X" or "can you show me your source" which really slows down the discussion and is honestly not that productive in my experience. Talking about ethics has a lot faster pace cause its just talking about the values of the person and seeing if they are consistent. I also think that when you talk about health or the environment, and you are succesful in your talk, people will be satisfied lowering their impact, eating a little bit less meat for example. The end result is just not that impactful. Just my thoughts anyways. And that people dont have compassion for animals? Hard disagree from my personal experience

@Sequoiah Dreams Again with that "disconnected" crap. Of course your studies show only benefits of being vegan, but do you know why? Because researchers are paid to do so. For every study saying that veganism is the most healthy lifestyle, I can find a study claiming the same about omnivore lifestyle. All these nonsense about people from earlier ages, not eating meat... Todays illnesses are really not about eating meat. It is about a lifestyle. People of bronze age have stanima to be able run among the horses because of life of hardship and training to war. And proper BALANCED diet! I am not saying, that people of this time need this horrible amount of animal products like now, without proper life style. So yes, if many people of 1st world switch to vegan, I can imagine they will become healthier but in the end, it is not an ultimate decidion. The key in is balance. I am actually quite surprise from me saying that, because I am most likely exterme person with pretty much zero tolerance for compromises, but here I can not argue.
@@vojtechotava1417 no that’s not what he’s saying, it’s just that SMART people will go vegan if they consider it because there’s no way it can be debunked
@@alfiewoodley01 Debunked how? In terms of nutritions, philosophy, our nature or overal? There are many things, where meat is better than plants, same as plants are better than meat at something...
@@vojtechotava1417 ok so nutrition. It’s been scientifically proven in peer reviewed literature that a well planned plant based diet is nutritionally suitable for all stages of life. Philosophy, in the past we have had to hunt for our food. In 2020 there are vegan options and the science to know how to be healthy as a vegan so killing animals is therefore, by definition, unnecessary. Our nature (physiology): As stated above, it’s been proven that regardless of whether or not we evovoled eating meat, we do not need to anymore. 1in3 meat eaters die of heart disease due to cholesterol (something which is not found in plants) Overall (I’m guessing u mean environmental factors): The leading cause of deforestation, green house gas emissions and ocean deadzones (literally the three biggest risk factors for planetary destruction) is animal agriculture (the farming of animals) therefore if u actually look at the simple facts WITHOUT bias or being defensive (which is what a smart person does) u would go vegan. He is not wrong that helping farmers out of animal agriculture is a good idea. Yes, everyone should be vegan but we don't want to throw people out of jobs with no help. It's a lot like people who work in the fossil fuel industry. Not the execs - they can go to hell - the workers. Helping them into new jobs is a great way to look after people and to diffuse a lot of political pressure in opposition to decarbonisation.
Deifnitely - many farms have been able to convert to a crop farm. Obviously some land isn't able to convert their land if it isn't fertile enough etc. The government should, instead of giving subsidies for meat and dairy use that money to support farmers converting either their farm to grow crops or retraining. They need to be supported, they aren't bad people for doing a job they gave been trained to do! Earthling Ed has a great document for farmers on how they can be helped :)
@@yaccfonoti I hope they transition. People work in slaughterhouses because there’s demand for this kind of job. It’s not their fault. Same with farmers. @shaneboxhall I am right in saying there is no right way to kill? Or did you just misunderstand my comment? Pets to me are the ultimate example of animals humans tend to treat well, so would that be a good way of going about it to you?

You really should look into it and you will learn that plants dont have a consciousness.
Hope this helps. Nice that you care but you do need to eat properly too. Youve obviously be taught a lie.
My mom once told me, 'Make your difference one person at a time'. It's called integrity, max respect, Joey, all the best, man.
Joey takes a non vegan shopping, this is a great idea!
yeah That will be an interesting video to watch with his commentary
Definitely a great idea! I plan on taking my parents with me and we can go grocery shopping together and I can show them all the vegan alternatives and good food, and what I buy to eat weekly. Once you really show people how easy it is, they are much more open to transition to a vegan lifestyle.
I love that! Show each person how simple it can be without judgement. I work in public health and I swear people are scared by vegtables.
This was a great conversation, this guy sounds honest and genuine. Usually meat eaters become defensive and dismissive but this guy saw your points and was open.
Yes, and what amazed me is that he readily said: "I hate to admit that, but it has to do with convenience".
we don't become defensive. we expose the truth that we must eat meat to ensure health, cardiovascular health, diabetes, etc.
@@AlexMonajemi But you can achieve that on a well planned whole food plant based diet, but without the environmental pollution, biodiversity loss, antibiotic resistance, deforestation, land acidification, mammalian hormones, zoonotic diseases, and most important I'd say, animal suffering. It's scientific consensus. So why not choose plant-based and even vegan instead of.. all that?
Yes agreed, he’s a good soul
@shaneboxhall I'm assuming that's not the final form of your contra argument for my claim. Care to elaborate?
I love this guy. Underneath that nervous energy is a lot of emotional intelligence and heaps of compassion. You're amazing Joey.
"I'm not here to force my lifestyle on you, I want you to stop forcing your lifestyle on the animals" Well said Joey 👏
that’s weird I read this comment as he said it
@shaneboxhall either you’re dumb by saying you don’t harm animals. You’re you’re pretending to be dumb.
You know too well you’re paying someone to put pigs in gas chambers and slice their throat.
If I pay a hitman to kill someone, will I be free of guilt then? Spare us of silly nonsense.
@shaneboxhall ok, so you’re dumb then 👍
@shaneboxhall “you ppl are a joke” says the anti vegan internet troll who came on this video to troll. Vegans are actually making a difference to save the planet and the animals. How are you contributing to make the world a better place? Oh, you aren’t, you’re sitting in your basement trolling, you sir, are the joke here.
Yeah , joey well said !!!!
Poor guy, he is so overwhelmed with the truth... Glad he is willing to make the change.
I hate when ppl talk about health while debating veganism, if youre eatting mcdonalds and pizza youre not worried about your health
true
Its a cheat day..
I just ask an immediate follow up question about how many grams of protein, carbohydrates, sugars, they need in a day and how they get it and they shut up immediately because they have no fucking clue and don't care. Let them expose themselves.
@@consciousobserver629 Exactly, I do this by myself
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this young lad. Forget what side of the fence you're on. The honesty, authenticity this lad brings to the table, with a total stranger, is stellar. These are the kind of people we need in the world on mass. Open minded, willing to engage in a dialogue, profoundly listening. Hats off to you chap.
That guy is so smart he's definitely gonna go vegan
Of course. Only stupid people remain omnivores, right? Sound to me pretty arrogant...
1in3 meat eaters die of heart disease due to cholesterol (something which is not found in plants)
Overall (I’m guessing u mean environmental factors): The leading cause of deforestation, green house gas emissions and ocean deadzones (literally the three biggest risk factors for planetary destruction) is animal agriculture (the farming of animals) therefore if u actually look at the simple facts WITHOUT bias or being defensive (which is what a smart person does) u would go vegan. End of discussion
Going vegan shopping with Joey. Good idea. I'm in🙆🏻♀️
Yes, I want to see this.
Me too. 😊
They haven't been in touch yet ☺️
That's my brother! He never stops talking & he love prove people wrong but I'm glad he got proved wrong this time😂
I don't think he got proved wrong 😆 I think he just took time aside to think 😊 Hope he goes for a secondary video!

Welcome to veganism my friend. You have done the right choice. It's gonna be a wonderful Journey. :)
:) im not him.. But that made me smile.
This proves that people just need to be honest. Love this guys reaction to your outreach. Amazing work fella.
What a nice guy!
Proper nice guy
Nice interview. That guy seemed to really see your point. Its not difficult; we simply need stop exploiting animals and pretending that they are our food. It's freakn vile. Once a person sees it, they can never unsee it.
abner Slight problem there. All animals are exploited. Our exploitation is tame all things considered.

Part 5:Wedding of George and Joey. 😄👍
This gentleman exudes emotional intelligence, logic and dynamic thinking, which is why there's only ONE way this conversation could have gone when he met you Joey. We need regular updates of his journey, because he's so honest and real.
Man I literally cheered out loud when he suggested the series on you taking him through the steps of becoming vegan haha. What a dude, can't wait to see this.
I was as open-minded as this person when I researched about veganism for ethical reasons. I went vegan overnight and still am at 8 years. So glad to see another wonderful human being! 💕 Please, film the beginners guide to vegan shopping soon!
great
fishes have hopes and dreams as well save them from the sharks!!
I really like the mutual respect between you both. George is one hell of a nice chap, and he has a higher level of intelligence and empathy than many of these idiotic toxic men that are around nowadays.
@书中自有黄金屋 gender? Que? I see you are another toxic one. Run along now
👌
@书中自有黄金屋 likewise MR toxin
Yes so true! 100% agree when we start treating animals with the respect they deserve we also start treating each other with the respect they deserve.
I'm sitting here crying because it's just such a breath of fresh air seeing someone actually think about what's being said and shown and not shut everything down to stay ignorant because they don't want to change. I had to stop watching street outreach because most of it just gives me no hope for humanity. The arguing and complete disregard for the lives of animals breaks my heart. But this guy gives me hope. He was so open minded and considerate, and that just makes my heart sing. Thank you, Joey for this amazing conversation. It made my day. 💗
That guy is going to be an activist
Very intelligent too :)
What a great conversation, and what an amazing guy. I love it when they click and make the connection. Fantastic job as always Joey
Thank you, Joey! I loved this guy! What a well mannered, open-minded, genuine human being. Looking forward to seeing him again on your channel.
This guy is awesome, so open minded and not on the defensive, a rare reaction. Great conversation you both had 🙌
What a breath of fresh air. Absolutely loved it!
lack of ego and a compassionate soul is a beautiful thing

Oh, bless him! Well done Joey!
Take him shopping, Joey! I wanna follow this guys vegan journey. I’m sure he will turn out as an activist ✌️
George is so stinking adorable. I wish more people were as thoughtful as him. What a great kid.
Vegan heart right there. Thank you pal for your intellectual honesty and decency.
I love this guy! Almost the exact process I went through when I saw Gary's speech ~10 years ago.

I hope for you too. But most of Joey's interviews, as well as other activists' don't end like that. However, I guess you learn and develop more when you encounter more stubborn people.

You can do it. I believe in you
It takes a MINIMUM of 21 days to form a new habit. Can take longer. Took me 3 months to get over my cheese addiction, now I couldn't care less about cheese.
Don't get disappointed, people, it takes some learning and effort to change our food habits, but it gets easier and easier the longer you do it :)

The ending made me cry. I do outreach constantly in a number of different scenarios, and while the sheer number of those who refuse to give a shit is beyond despairing, the ones who are eager to wake up and take responsibility - and who are genuinely grateful for the encounter/conversation/resources, is overwhelmingly gratifying... 😭🙏💪✌️
the editing on this, phenomenal! Can’t wait to watch this it sounds great
Wow this conversation keeps getting better.
Watch 19:30 and be amazed by what this man says.
So true gave me chills!
Great Catch:))))
This is exactly the argument that Alex O’Connor (cosmic sceptic) made to Klaus at PBN when asked what drove him to veganism.
Wow. A meat-eater who is actually non-defensive and open-minded, who doesn't use "bacon tho" as a legitimate excuse to continue paying for animal abuse. My friend, you have met an actual unicorn.
That's not realistic if you think about it. Almost all of us have at one point been meat eaters. All we needed was a change in perspective. This is exactly what is going on with this guy.
@Paul Semmens I can, I'm wondering what angle you're coming from?
Joey absolutely CRUSHING IT with this videos. So inspiring.

This is similar to what happened to me. I became vegan in 5 minutes and an activist in a few weeks! This dude was so enthusiastic, curious, willing to listen and he definitely needed to get some stuff off his chest! Great job Joey!! Look forward to watching next video with George, the new vegan activist!! Boom! 🙌🏼💚
Joey, I think your content is really valuable for the movement and it's constantly inspiring many people. This is like, that ‘moment’ all vegans had when you realize you’re going to be vegan, has been caught on camera. I remember having that moment myself, alone in front of my computer after seeing a calf thrown in the trash. It all just suddenly makes sense, and you realize that you are part of the problem. And then all the questions go through your mind, like what you will eat and where you can get vegan options. But you easily figure all that stuff out when you make the decision for the animals 🐷🐓🐮 and there are so many people that can help you on your journey.
Shopping with Joey needs to be a regular thing.
If everyone was this open minded and willing to put ignorance aside the world would be wonderful. Kudos to this guy and great work Joey... Looking forward to part 2
If you're in the UK, check out Refarm'd :)
Fuck the farmers. I hope they lose their jobs
@@yaccfonoti I hope they transition. People work in slaughterhouses because there’s demand for this kind of job. It’s not their fault. Same with farmers. Most of them have been brought up in this farming environment and don’t know any better, just like we didn’t know any better when we were dining on the corpses of innocent animals before we went vegan.
@@Bianca-pw5cn I have zero sympathy for them.
I'm not a peaceful man I believe an eye for an eye.
They have tortured, abused and enslaved BILLIONS of animals.
For the suffering they have caused they deserve to rot.
Zero sympathy
The same way I don't sympathise with the Nazis, the kkk and people who hurt children.
Karma will come. They are not innocent. They know EXACTLY what they are doing.
He is a smart man, I was extremely shocked too when I found out. He has compassion and it's so nice to see
The red jungle fowl which is what domesticated chickens come from only lay 10-20 eggs a year, only on 2 separate occasions. Not monthly like a female human. That's a common misconception. It actually strengthens the argument though since we have manipulated their bodies from only producing eggs twice a year, now every single day. Which is why they die prematurely from nutritional deficiencies having to excrete unnatural amounts of nutrients to produce a stupid amount of eggs
Bless him. If more people were as open minded and able to be humble as this great man, then the world would be in a better state allready ❤

@shaneboxhall animals are tortured and murdered every single moment. Question u really should ask is whats wrong with me? why am I choosing this unethical side ?
@shaneboxhall If u kill someone against their will, its murder. Watch dominion to see actual standard practice for killing animals. Can you imagine being in their position?
U call me drama queen . hey I am just telling you the reality,.
@shaneboxhall What would "better killing" look like? Genuinely curious what killing looks like without having negative impact on the animal.
@shaneboxhall I am right in saying there is no right way to kill? Or did you just misunderstand my comment?
If you are trying to say that giving someone a good life justifies killing them makes very little sense to me.
Have you ever had pets (that you treated well), and if so have you thought about killing and eating them? Pets to me are the ultimate example of animals humans tend to treat well, so would that be a good way of going about it to you?
@shaneboxhall why would you not kill your pet? Is it because the pet has value to you because of your emotional opinion? And if so, should we decide who lives and who dies based on who we like more?
Friend, this is so inspiring! Thank you!
Can’t wait for part 2!!!!!
