      Joey, Id say even survival isn't an argument against being vegan (it is against being plant based) as eating flesh in those circumstances is still consistent with avoiding causing cruelty and suffering as far as practically possible (it would be necessary). The exception being if one does not see survival as a justified reason to harm an animal.
      Thanks for all your amazing advocacy and work!

      Yeah! I went Vegan almost 3 years ago after watching a load of Joey's street debates.
      I was already veggie for health reasons, but after watching the street debates I realised there wasn't any logical reasons to justify not being Vegan.
      So I lived as a hypocrite for maybe 4 months and then made the switch when I tried Veganuary.

    • @stevenbridges
      @stevenbridges 4 роки тому +6

      I think you hit the nail on the head with that last line unfortunately!
      The issue is, as we know, Veganism is initially a very tricky sell. People don't have a good perception of vegans and they see us as pushing our views on them.
      Perhaps a better approach would be if I reached out to one of the vegan UA-camrs like Joey or Ed and just got them on for a normal magic video as a guest and then plug their channel at the end.
      I'll give it more thought when I revive my channel :)

So if you wouldn't want that treatment how hipocritical and unfair is it for you to pay for animals to be murdered and claim it is fine "because they die painlessly". That is complete bull shit and me and you both know it, no animal wants to die even if it is painless or not.

They dont function in the same way as us animals. So please dont feel guilty about it. I take it you are a fruitatarian? Those that will only eat what has fallen off the plant etc.

    Yes, everyone should be vegan but we don't want to throw people out of jobs with no help.
    It's a lot like people who work in the fossil fuel industry. Not the execs - they can go to hell - the workers. Helping them into new jobs is a great way to look after people and to diffuse a lot of political pressure in opposition to decarbonisation.

      Deifnitely - many farms have been able to convert to a crop farm. Obviously some land isn't able to convert their land if it isn't fertile enough etc. The government should, instead of giving subsidies for meat and dairy use that money to support farmers converting either their farm to grow crops or retraining. The red jungle fowl which is what domesticated chickens come from only lay 10-20 eggs a year, only on 2 separate occasions. Not monthly like a female human. That's a common misconception. It actually strengthens the argument though since we have manipulated their bodies from only producing eggs twice a year, now every single day. Which is why they die prematurely from nutritional deficiencies having to excrete unnatural amounts of nutrients to produce a stupid amount of eggs
