I’m doing a carpentry joinery apprenticeship, which has mostly consisted of hard labour, sweeping & tidying up and now hand tools. I’ve only got 6 months left to get familiar & competent with the process of making doors, windows and stairs 😬 but this video made it seem way less daunting, so thank you so much 😊
Now I know the secret behind this perfect job. Its her, the little supervisor who helped and guided you at every step. (Smiling). Nice work indeed. Ma Sha Allah.

Keep the secret, that little lovely girl was a good motivation to make everything as good as possible
I’m impressed. I’ve made a few doors in my day. Probably was paid a lot more than this guy. Interesting casing on the jamb. Better reflects the style and rail configuration. Interesting. I’ve not seen that before. I appreciate the amount of work involved there. 👍👍👍
Loved the way you made that door frame. It was simple, with not much hassle. In my country they use wood beams (5"x5") to make the frames. They have to cut the notch so as to make the door fit on it when closed and it takes a lot of trial and error, not to mention time. Also, it makes the frame expensive, unnecessarily thick and heavy, providing very little in over-all strength. I loved that here, you used what I guess are 1"x5" wood planks to make the frame and screwed it right in the wall and then nailed thin wood strips to make the door sit on it. IMO, I found this method of door framing much easier and cost effective...
Beautiful and thoughtfully consistent aesthetics and impressive freehand router skills, buddy. I'd take a little bit more time and fixture the vertical tenon cuts. You want to keep all of those skilled fingers intact for many years to come. 🙂
Most youtubers showing their skills for 1 door: 4 episodes, epic music, slowmotion, macro... and you feel like woodworking is reserved for a few gifted elected officials. Or you have just a guy doing his job and the end result or techniques are not always off the (perfect woodworker) book but it's more than beautiful.

Wow, that's so nice from you, I think is the result of making something you love! ❤
this is great work, thanks for sharing. However, I have a concern because the solid part between the uprights and the crosspieces are glued and clamped. This is the part that should contract or expand depending on the seasons, humidity. The assembly implemented may not allow the wood to move and generate cracks. Thank you for giving us your feedback after some time. Congratulations again for your work, it's really beautiful
@@twelthstring That is a large surface. That can expand by an inch over the year and then cup or even rip the top/bottom rails from the styles. I'm thinking to make something similar but you glue only the middle and let the other panes "float" either individually or glued together as 2 panels. I'd then oversize the last tongue and groove so that the panel can move. The tongue/groove should be very tight so that basically only the force of the wood is strong enough to move it. With the last door I made, I decided to glue/screw 2 sheets of baltic birch ply and then veneered thinner "panels" of yellow birch about 1/8 inch thick. The ply won't move. It held up well, tho in 1-2 places even the veneer panels separated - maybe 1/32 of an inch, not even noticeable. But if I had made it solid birch, I'd have problems.
Absolutely beautiful man, i would put it outside with weather it will last long, anyway i have just learn that trick to use dowel stick as a plug and love the cordless router hope to get it one day
Beautiful handwork indeed. I quite agree with the fitting of five hinges because I have found that with a solid door, only two hinges just will not last very long. The weight of a solid door is too much for modern light weight hinges.

Thank you for yoyr comment, you're right, this solid door is quite heavy, normally I put 4 hinges on a hollow core door or any other design

I think it depends where you live. Here in WV, wood moves a lot. Elsewhere, modern glue might give you enough leeway.
Thank you Mike, actually where I live we have similar weather during the year, I don't have problems so far but I will keep update
👍👌👍👍
How do we make an all wheather door that allows wood to move but still is very stable?
