How to draw a basic twist using a grid

This tutorial is the first in a series of videos illustrating step-by-step how to draw basic knotwork using the grid method.
In this first video, we will draw a simple twist using a grid. You'll learn how to draw a twist and then how to give the twist a little depth using shading.

I have been trying to master a few of these and this one, whilst I could do it, it was hard to keep even and neat using the method I first saw. But this method enabled me to get it first go and pretty neat too. I won’t go back to the other way now. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing how to draw Celtic Knots. I hav😅e been onC7 and off drawing them for about 6 yrs and found the same issues of insufficient demonstration tutorials - I mean real basic. The other issue was having to stop drawing for periods of time d/t some serious surgeries that did not provide me with a good mindset to entertain drawing. What I am presently doing is revisiting the basicdrawing skills of Celtic Knots to recapture previous skill levels I had broached accomplishing. You are providing clear and concise information and examplifying great examples of how to draw these knots! Please continue to show us a variety of Celtic Knot designs to draw from inception to completion. I can say you are quite good at making these videos!! There really aren't a lot of tutorials that teach the basics of how to draw knotwork, which is a shame because this is such a beautiful art style! The trick is figuring out how to break them down.
