- I perform a quick fix on my 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser I bought recently and have been fixing and updating from years of neglect.
Toyota Part Number: 84222-12010
Identical Toyota Part Number (much cheaper): 84210-52050
Vinegar and salt ratio approximately:
-1/2 cup distilled vinegar
-1/2 teaspoon table salt

Thanks for the informative video! I"m new to the LC. Got a really good deal on a 93 with a few dents, but no rust. Not the triple locked version. Unfortunately. But you answered my question about the cdl and now I have an explanation why no light comes on also.

I just did the same for my 2001 Lexus LX470, but replaced it with the Beck Arnley 201-1788 switch. It's even cheaper than the alternative Toyota part.
The alternative one I got was cheaper than Amazon for the Beck Arnley switch, I got mine from partsouq.com

so the light wasnt turning on at all? i ordered the new switch hopefully it will fix it. even when i turn my ignition light on the center diff wont show up on the dash.

Was the light showing up when you put it in the Low range before you changed the sensor?

How can you tell if the dif censor is bad? I have this problem! Tried cleaning it still won’t light up.
Did you try a new switch?
@@SnowroxKT no, my issue is when I shift to 4L. The light doesn’t come in. I hear a click but no light indicating it’s locked.
@@skunkworksstudios I'd replace the switch then. Sounds like it's working mechanically.
@@SnowroxKT I’ll give it a try. The weird thing is when I gets really cold the dash will light up when I shift into 4L.
I got a 99, Prado and I can't turn of the diff lock,the front wheel locked on me....help please
Are the fuses good? A trick to keep them locked is to pull the fuse once they are locked.
How do you turn it off. The damn thing will not turn off on my neighbours land cruiser
Sounds like it's a shorted sensor then to me.
Did you use the little washer/spacer that came with the new sensor?
Yes! Make sure you get the old one off though.
How were you able to remove the sensor?
Apologies for not replying earlier, I never saw this... It just unscrews, I think it was a 24mm wrench.

I have a 1994 and it does not have that center diff lock button just a switch on the left side of the steering wheel. Is it double locked?
It is triple locked then! You can still add the switch on the dash to manually lock the center diff, or your 1994 should lock automatically when in 4-Low.
@@SnowroxKT my 95 when it goes to 4L i heard it locks but no light come on at the dash, it suppose to light when engages the 4L?
@@waltermillan1717 correct. Mine just started doing that same thing. It's one of the sensors on the transfer case. I will fix mine eventually again.
