But the penalty is pretty bs because alfa team didn't intentionally do that it was due to the problem during safety car start

I wish I could be back there and relive this all, one of the best weekends of all
In order to win, Vettel has to start 19th in the next race
and not be held in the pits
@@SirHRDking that too
You, my good sir, have a point.
If the full 67 laps were done we might have seen a last lap Vettel vs Verstappen fight
It's very hard to overtake in Hungary so no, not a good plan.
This is what happen when the race is not determined by the power of the car, it's the driver and pit strategy doing racing!
Love this drama!
Well in case of this race is more about luck not pit strategy. You can only pit if you are in position to do so, where you are on the track at the moment SC is released plays huge part in pit strategy working or not, if you are in position to pit without loosing position then you can but if you are passing pit entry at the moment when SC is coming out on track then you might loose out big.
Driver skill is a different story but still it takes some luck, for example Leclerc crash out was really unlucky, like Brundle said he just got slight kick of oversteer in worst place possible and then there was nothing he could have done, Max for example had his moment in much more forgiving place where there was no gravel or barrier or skating ring how they called run of area in last two corners. Same Hamilton, he lost out most on his pit stop after he crashed, if that happened several corners earlier he might have come to pits for crew already waiting for him, instead team wasn't ready, they were confused about tyres and additionally Lewis crashed out in such place he had to go into pits cutting through the grass and got penalty which again dropped him further down on next SC when everyone was bunched up and most cars pitted.
@@mgecko2959 Car out of control can't be counted as luck. Yes it is painful to see Leclerc or Bottas out of the race since I'm a decent fan for them, they are also indeed talented and skilled, but I can't say that they're unlucky if other drivers managed to not crash themselves. Many factors contributes to losing your car, and all it takes is that one very minor mistake. Germany is an unforgiving track, all I can say is pity for them and those who also didn't made it, and all hopes for them for another great performance next year (if Hockenheim would still be hosting)
@@mgecko2959 It is all about risk management. The drivers that spun at the drag strip often had little warnings laps before. It is most certainly not luck. Luck is always involved, but not the biggest factor. This is one of those races where the mainstream qoute 'to finish first, first you have to finish' sums it all up.
This is why refueling is needed in F1
*The Stroll spinning at **2:03** is just me when I have to wait for my friend in the F1 videogame !*
