Going in tomorrow afternoon for an angioplasty. Was shocked watching this video and seeing the dr...dr Wassef...whom i have never met before, is the dr that will be doing this procedure on me in kitchener at st marys. I had no anxiety with the angiogram procedure but i am climbing the walls over this 1. Just have a bad feeling about this as i have a couple of blockages over 80% and 4 others under 70%. Picked tonight as my last day of smoking and if i make it through this procedure, i know i will never smoke again! Ty for this video and i hope the man upstairs helps me get through the next 24 hours.

I went into St.George’s hospital 34yrs ago. 1st to have angioplasty. Then to have heart surgery, I was fortunate I did not need stents only to push out where I had narrowing. They did that for me and I have a good life since then. They kept an eye on my heart.I am now 79yrs.had a good working life without problems from my heart. For excercise I jogged probably 200 mgt so three times a week and went on my bike on Saturday. None of the excercise I did fatigued me, just allowed me to grow to a fit 5ft.ll. And to weigh14 stones. I did it, and I would encourage others to do the same, biggest thing is to get checked by you doctor for the go ahead, a clean bill of health, other than atrial fibrillation. Witch is very well controlled. I have no problems and still take excercise, but not so much. Gil Campbell. U.k. have a good 23.

I had an ablation done by catheter a week ago. I was relaxed, since I have complete confidence in my doctors. It was done under general anesthesia; I was knocked out and prefer it that way. The sting of starting an IV was the most pain I experienced going in. I had a minor sore throat after, from the breathing tube. This is amazing heart surgery! I had minor pain at the top of each leg, when I got on my feet and walked, but nothing to write home about. I went in at 10 one morning, walked out 24 hours later, complete; paperwork and all. If you are facing this, it is a breeze; any easier, and they'd do it in a drive-through. Mine was done at John Peter Smith, in Fort Worth. No fears at all, I'd do it again, if needed, without a whimper. Better this, than the dentist's office, I kid you not!! If you are facing this, don't worry. You'll laugh, afterward, about any fears you had. All soreness at the incision sites was gone within a week, and was never very much.

I had a cardiac catheterization one year ago in Morristown Medical Center, NJ. Upon going into the cath lab itself I was told to take off my hospital gown and be nude under the open camera without anything on top of me, not even a sheet. This was not an emergency and was indeed a humiliating, upsetting experience. I was treated like I was an incompetent old lady or a dead body, although the cath itself was fairly simple. I was 67 years young.

I've gone through this a dozen times. I've had 2 heart attacks and so many angiograms I lost count. My last one was done in July 2016 where they found 13 blockages and ended up placing 6-stents in my arteries which now add up to a total of 13-stents and a ton of angioplasty. Today is April 20, 2019 and I'm scheduled to have another angiogram performed on me within the next 2 weeks. I have a nagging feeling that if my Cardiologist finds anything that I will be looking at bypass surgery, which is fine with me, I just want to be fixed up. I'm 65 years old, in the last 3 years I've had 5 strokes, one in my Frontal lobe, one in my Temporal lobe and 3 in my Thalamus, I have Epilepsy combined with Complex Partial Seizure Disorders, White Brain Matter disease, I'm being tested for dementia and my neurologist is leaning towards Vascular disease being the cause, I also have type 2 diabetes, chronic pain in my lower back Sciatica, I have approximately 13 neurological symptoms I deal with everyday like short term memory loss, hallucinations, confusion etc, dizziness, balance issues and falling down. Peripheral Neuropathy in my feet and hands but i never complain, my wife takes care of me and together we get through each day, I thank God for her, she's an angel.

I don't know what all your problems are, but I had ablation for a-fib last month. Was calm going in, since I knew what was involved; no reservations or fears. The reality was even easier. Walked into the hospital at 7 AM, got checked in and prepped, in the OR bt 10:30. Awake in recovery by 4 PM, and walked out of hospital before noon the next day. Incredible! Minor soreness at both incisions, at the tops of my legs, and minor sore throat from the imaging equipment. I slept through all the insertion, use, and extraction. If tpld I need it again, I wouldn't hesitate a second. Any easier, and it would be done in a drive-through. I feel stronger, with more stamina, too. This was performed at the county hospital, not some more luxurious one that caters to people who can afford higher-priced surroundings. Relax, and worry about what's for supper, instead of the medical stuff. This is not something to stress about, at least mine wasn't. I'm still amazed at how easy it was, but I have total confidence in my doctors and nurses. I posted some pictures in google maps, under John Peter Smith hospital. I felt that good afterwards. Note clock time on wall.
