The best thing you can do, is file a complaint with the NHTSA. This makes a huge difference, if everyone does their part and complains, this is how recalls happen. The manufacturer isn’t going to issue a recall without pressure, especially VW. Don’t forget the VW scandal just a few years ago! HONESTLY, DO YOUR PART AND REPORT THESE ISSUES NHTSA!
I bought mine in May of 2021. In September, I got that Error for the Auto Start/Stop system, and car would sputter, until I hit the button to deactivate Auto Start/Stop. Then it ran fine. The dealership reset the computer and I didn't have another issue until late January 2022. The check engine light came on, but it ran fine. Dealership said it's an exhaust issue, but would be fine to run, until my appointment (earliest was a month later). In the two weeks prior to the appointment, all of the safety systems would deactivate, reactivate, repeatedly while driving. It didn't affect how it would drive, but I started to have issues with the car detecting the key, and it wouldn't start regularly. The day before my appointment, had to call VW roadside assistance to get the vehicle towed to the dealership. They've had it for a few days now. They couldn't get it started, and the computer wasn't communicating with the VW diagnostic equipment. They contacted VWs engineers about the issues, and the engineers are stumped. They asked the mechanics to take video of the troubleshooting they are doing, and send it to them. Haven't gotten an update on the status of my TAOS for two days, now...hopefully Monday.
@@Libertylaneeee Yes, based on PA's lemon law, VW gave me two options, offering a $5000 settlement, or a buy back. I took the buy back...they offered an additional $2000 if I bought another VW, which I did, because I really loved the 2011 Jetta that I'd owned previously. So, I now own a 2022 Jetta SE, which is fully paid off.
Mine kept turning off in the middle of the road! It was so scary as I had the kids ready to go to school on a busy road! it kept shutting off! And when I finally got it to turn back on it made a loud noise and I was able to get off the road! It was scary! Also yesterday my windows were all down and my screen was off I couldn't get it to turn on. I'm assuming its all related! I hope I can get it figured out soon!
Oh man this sucks. They should just recall all of them. My issue is so random, but serious. The dealer would have to have the vehicle for two months to finally see the issue !
Mine stalled and didn’t let me advance above 20mph.Scarey because I was stuck in heavy traffic ! I thought it broke down all of a sudden not sure about all these vehicles and technology
No…I haven’t had the issue lately at all! Oh my god did you try stopping the car, restarting it and turning off the stop/start? That’s what helps mine! What a hassle right ??!!
@Jessica Yonnotti I did. Couldn’t get it to go above 30. All the error lights came on. Check check engine etc. Currently being towed. It was the strangest thing.

Simple solution: turn it off, better for the engine.
Did you find out what was wrong? And how did you resolve it?

I’m so scared this will happen to me !!
