My writing is not on the wall so when I'm dead I won't be gone for long until the cat came back the very next day thought she was a gonner but the cat came back with a couple stray dogs.
Watched the Manfreds perform this in the pavilion on Cromer Pier, Norfolk on Friday 17 March 2017 and boy are they good. Paul Jones seems absolutely ageless and looks and acts like someone in his 40s.
Paul Jones - the Second Best Leather Trouser wearer next to Phil Lynott - damn hot. Wonderful, saw him with the Blues Band at Hammersmith I can't remember how many years ago but it was bloody awesome.
A great band, I don't doubt, but this is a very tricky song to cover effectively. To my mind it needs something approaching Hugh Flint's original (in both senses of the word) drum accompaniment - lurching, almost random-sounding in places, but somehow exactly right - to really lift it. Check out McGuinness Flint's live version recorded at the BBC - at least as good as the record.
Paul Jones is one hell of a harmonica player.
Such a great atmospheric song, loved it then and now, brilliant.
Love it then and now 😊
Bloody love that amplified mandy, what a great sound!
Just been to a recent concert and they sang this song. Absolutely brilliant. Love Paul Jones.

Brilliant,I have followed Paul Jones since I was a teenager in the sixtees
God I remember buying this record when I was a young lad, how time flies 😢😢
What a joyous song -- despite it's title!!! Fantastic lads. Keep on rocking!!!!

Whoever posted this, I love you! This is so joyous and good. Love the Manfreds!❤️
Paul Jones was a few years above me at Edinburgh Academy.
I wish I could have been there. Brilliant. You don't get real music like that anymore. Bloody sad.
More 70s happy memories. ❤❤
Just lovely to see you guys singing this again, loved this the first time I heard it and went out and brought a copy, still have it.

Saw The Manfreds in Wakefield last week ( September 2017) and really enjoyed the show and music. Paul Jones is just brilliant.

Paul taught me French so I would pass my "A" levels. A joy of a man.

Used to love the Manfreds especially when Paul Jones was with them. Used to fancy him something rotten! Tom McGuinness is quite a character too.

Yes, it's brilliant. Rather like Levon Helms with "a bump and a jerk"!
Is that Mike d'Abo on keyboards?
Yes I believe it is
yes saw them all last night mike dabo so good
Brian Jones asked Paul Jones before Mick Jagger to be the lead singer of the Rollin Stones
Paul sure can play the moothy.
Lots of noise on the stage...
Mr saaz... I'm play correctly mouth organ 😢
sax is totally inappropriate on this song. could do without the harp as well.
Agree, and I'm a sax player 😁 so I sing it instead.
Rubbish
