This week, I've been reading Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA. As a kid I used to think the story of MGS was sloppy and that the secret societies were almost silly in terms of their plans and how 'make it up as you go' it seemed with how easily derailed they'd get or how inaccurate intelligences ended up being. Ultimately this book on the real history of the CIA showed similar Liquid Snake levels of short-sightedness and even movie-like implausibility-silliness in terms of failures or successes on the behalf of the CIA as a unit or in their individual operatives as well as predecessors
Everyone thinks these intelligence agencies like the CIA are all knowing and can control events and foresee events decades in advance. In reality they are a bumbling bureaucracy like all government agencies and have many incompetent people. They are so far from infallible it’s incredible.

The farthest I got in the game is beating Pupa many years later on a Vita version of the game. I'm truly happy to finally get to experience it and hopefully one day finish it im game form

Playing the psp 2010 peace walker I thought that snake eater event and the flashback were in a sense the same thing repeating as going along with it. I must of doublethink that one. Lol I might be stretching here on this with Snake or Jack character, in mgs3 there is a part where Jack enters a nightmare during the torture event, with police like monsters and New York city view graffiti, the person with swords strapped around him and fights them that kinda resembles Jack, Riaden from mgs2. It was Kojimas test game he was working on but he scrapped it and doesn't exist on the mgs HD collection. Though I got an interpration that Jack was brought up in the rough streets of Manhattan New York, perhaps a distortion from covering his pain and his past upbringing that he may of faced trouble with the police or was in a limbo state of insomnia that didnt know where to turn and eventually joined the army. What you say here is anther distortion to comfort himself from yet anther pain that he cant come to terms with. Jack's sentiments, and idealised of the boss was like a mother to him.
Interesting note about Snake's fake Boss scar: In MGSV, Venom Snake actually doesn't have that fake tribute scar despite having multiple other real scars from the helicopter crash. Given that only Kaz would have known about that scar's significance and didn't know about the plan for Venom Snake until after it had begun, it's a very obvious telltale sign that the Medic was a double which almost nobody seems to have realized since Peace Walker was so underappreciated.
You would really think a lot about how Kojima manages to integrate historic events and make it accurate as possible and relate it to in-game events, evidenced in MGS3, Peace Walker, and 5. His mind is too good. I can imagine a WW2 game that is so historically accurate yet introspective in nature made by this guy.

Can someone please answer me this. How was Strangelove able to complete the bosses ai if Big Boss never told her the truth of what happened to the boss? And why is Big Boss having trouble recollecting what happened to the boss? Is it like ptsd thats making his mind misremember what order things happened? Cause he definitely knows the truth of what happened to the boss from the tape Eva gave him at the end of mgs3. That she was loyal to her country all along as she defected to get the legacy, and im a little confused here, but she was also loyal to herself as she chose to accept the mission and to be killed by snake. Any answers would be awesome as these are like the only things in mgs i still have questions on, and cant find a definitive answer.
