So glad to hear you are conquering the chemo Julie. You must be really looking to getting back to the new normal. Will there be a new yeeha?😅 Great tour around Bournemouth Mike. Very mindful watching it in a strange kinda way.😅
Great vid as usual :-) We have really appreciated the honesty and straight forward approach you have had to your cancer - I think these videos are a real help to anyone who may know someone who is going through a similar thing - Clumsy language but you know what I mean :-) - Not long now until you can start on the road to bike fit!! Well done both - Steve and Susan
Mike interesting and informative of the local lay of the land and history of the boundary, as always, interesting to hear. Julie what a journey! Almost over, hang on in there X
Well done Julie, glad the chemo is nearly finished and you’re looking very well. I’m sure you’ll get back to fitness very soon and be out on the bike with Mike for this epic rides! 😊😊❤
Some of these road designers for cycling routes need to ride a bike and it may stop these faults. If they rode some of the routes all over the country they would see what you are saying. I don't know why we get cycling routes so wrong in this country when other countries get it right for both cyclists and car drivers. Keep up the good work and well done Julie 🚴🚴🚴
I really don't understand why Whitelegg Way has to be different to the other bike lanes we have locally? There's some more work happening across BCP, it'll be interesting to see the layout. Thanks for commenting 👍
Great video. Good to know that Julie is doing well. In regards Whitelegg way, I have found another problem to add to the list you just made, and you have just missed as you came from the underpass. When coming from Redhill roundabout to North Bourne, the first set of traffic lights allows traffic to turn left, and because the cycle lane "feels" so separated to the traffic, people turn left straight over the cycle lane without looking at all. Oh well, it is hqat we have 😅
Good to see you out and about Julie. Funny how the body reacts to the drugs in different cycles. The main thing is you are on the home straight and thinking about the new normal. I can relate to that - when speaking to the Docs and say you can only cycle about 40 miles now compared to 100, they say is that in a week, you say no in a day, they say what are doing here be happy you can cycle that far, you are in your 70s! It's all relative. Mike - I remember Frizells being built and I had my car insurance with them through the CSMA. How times have changed, wasn't so many cars on the road then !!
Well done Julie pleased to hear that the chemo is about finished, soon be back on the bike, wish I could say the same, everything seems a long process though the NHS We must keep on a troshing, enjoy the rest of your week.
That was an interesting video - I liked that one. Julie, good luck, and enjoy the planning for back to fitness and "normalcy". Mike, I now know a lot more about Bournemouth and cycle infrastructure.
Bournemouth's infrastructure usually consists quiet road alternatives and painted lines. In the last few years there have been some bigger projects 👍 Cheers John
Good karma from Canada Julie. Keep up the good fight to stay on top of this. It'll be no time before you're back leading the gang on your bike. Cheers, Rod
I think cycling infrastructure in Britain is iften badly designed because its done coming from a car drivers angle. Therefore they design to minmise the impact on cars and vehicles. Whereas places like the Netherlands design to improve ease of transition and movement for cyclists. Britain has become very vehicle centred and nothing can interfere with vehicular movement. Main stream media creating a culture war between drivers and cyclist doesn't help. This isn't just a cycling issue, pedestrianisation projects face similar issues. Anyway, great to have a tour of the locality. Hopefully you'll soon both be out on the bikes. Oh, you're right Julie, cancer is not selective, but being healthy to start with gives you a much better chance of kicking it into touch. And you're well on the way to doing that ❤
Yeah, and I ‘m old enough to remember Boundry Road as Boundry lane when it was a gravel track with goarse and brambles either side in the early seventies.
That raised kerb thing on the bike path is a tad daft isn't it! It's good to separate bikes from traffic where possible, but there are better ways of doing it for both the cyclists and the motorised traffic. Nice ride around the villages and the the 'burbs of Bournemouth, and a good walk too of course. So pleased with how you've seen the cancer off Julie, you'll be back to fighting fitness in no time I expect 👍 Great stuff!
