During cleaning of my Marlin rifle I had some stubborn powder deposits that would not come out with Hoppe’s #9 and a brush. I tried the kit from Brownell’s that includes J-B bore cleaning compound and Kano Kroil oil and that did the trick. The problem was I did not have the nice bore guide shown in your video so the J-B paste got inside the receiver. I used Break Free Powder Blast to thoroughly flush the receiver. Now all the parts inside the receiver are bone dry. So how do I get a thin film of oil on the inside of the receiver and all moving parts without disassembling everything. Should I use an aerosol spray oil like Ballistol and then try to remove the excess with rags and Q tips?
You really need to fully disassemble your receiver and make sure everything clean . And grease and oil where needed. Its not hard to disassemble there's other UA-cam videos showing how to do this it's a 10min job! Easy peasy.
