I watched a crew do my neighbor’s a bit the other day and noticed that one guy ran the rounded roller end in the channel first and then installed the spline so that the screen was a little preformed into the spline slot groove. Seemed like a good idea.
Thanks! You made it real easy. Hurricane outer and winds knocked a tree limb through my screen patio. grabbed all the supplies you showed. On a breezy day after the hurricane I finished the job by myself. Thank you. Oh and your cat is awesome.
Thank you! I'm renting and my rental insurance has a $1k deductible. Hurricane Milton really messed up my 3rd floor patio screen. Can't wait to try this!
Sweet Jesus. THANK YOU!!!! I had this curly thing, black, unraveling from my linai. I had no idea what it was called or how to put it on. So I scrolled through videos until someone revealed what it was. Five videos in, and you DID IT!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I can fix it myself for $10. Sweet Jesus you saved me a ton of money. Special place in Heaven for you..
This was awesome. You went straight to the point without talking a bunch of crap. After watching your video, I feel confident that I can do it too👏 thank you 🙏
Bro, I followed your tutorial and was able to replace 4 of the bigger panels within 3 hours minus a lunch break. You just earned me some brownie points! Thanks!
Great video, you made it easy to understand. I am on the Treasure Coast and thank God we didn't get any tornadoes, but the wind was so bad it thew the swing egg chair with the stand through the screen and I found the chair across the street by my neighbor's truck. It was crazy. With that said, I have to replace the screen to my patio. Thank you again!
Down here in Port Charlotte where the eye of that hurricane passed over us. It tore the pool screens to bits but the frame stood. It is going to be fiscal year 2068 before anyone can get here but with your video, gonna try it myself, as soon as supplies begin showing up in hardware store. Loved the info on the pet friendly screens. I have four (4!!) cats that I will have to contend with. That is a cute one that yer wife adopted!
Great video. I was apprehensive to repair the screen doors because I couldn't take them down and lay them flat but you gave me the confidence to repair them upright and it came out great. Thanks!
yup i had a part of my porch screen that just came lose and i told myself well it should not be to hard to replace it, but i had no real idea on how to do it until i came across your video, very nice job, but my porch screen came lose to bad weather and wind, but it was also very old, so pretty much was time to replace the porch screen anyways, Thank You for helping me out on how to do this and this is going to save me a lot of money doing it myself, instead of paying someone else to do it, Cheers :)
This was a tremendously useful video!! Thank you very much for your help. Couldn't have done it without you! Well done! Very practical step by step advice.
Good job! And cute kitty! I just replaced my patio screen, the largest one I have and used metal clips to hold the screen nice and tight (I did the job without them and tried the tape to hold the screen in place but the screen kept falling off and there were ripples in the screen). I retightened the screen with the metal clips and it worked great.
I always start the spline on top and then the bottom while pulling the screen down firmly but not too tight and then doing each side the same way. Use the concave wheel side of the roller and press the spline into the channel holding the roller at around a 45 degree angle away from the good screen that you dont want to cut. It seats it in the channel. Works great on round spline, even flat. Ive had perfect results this way, nice tight screens but not guitar string tight, still a little give, no wrinkles. Works perfect for me. And Im a little more liberal with the excess screen. I find it makes the job much easier. Pro tip, use metal clips that are specifically made to hold the screen in the channel instead of tape when you begin to make it alot easier when working alone. Sometimes tape wont stick depending on the weather conditions like higher humidity.
Thank you! Unfortunately our new puppy already ripped it back out on the bottom. Waiting for Temps to drop here in FL some and I'll be doing it again lol
Good video. But you should focus only on the actual rescreening. Any distractions like you talking to and about cat or taking a drink, take away from the quality and the pace.
Red wave coming Tuesday. If I were you I would learn how to talk to people who are doing these "infomercials"out of the goodness of their heart. You attract a lot more bees with honey then with vinegar. 🙄🧐🤬
@@patrickmichaels9030 You are being silly. If he wants to see views and then see an extra income from the views then quality is king. I said video was good. But the personal distractions were unnecessary. Why not leave that for another video that will attract different type of crowd, I think Shakespeare said "Brevity is the soul of wit"
@@robinmeade7573 Read the comments, like I just did , and ask yourself why 30 comments are positive and thankful, but yours' is condescending and negative. He never asks for anyone to subscribe to or like his video and if you think he can monitize 30, 40 or 100 views, then you're cat shit crazy... control freak

Thanks for an easy video. Blessing to see a man who understands a cat life family member.
I loved the cat helping! Made my rescreen not as much of a chore. 😂
Great job brother! You made it look easier than I was expecting. Thanks for taking away some anxiety 👊🏼😂

I'm glad to help out! We were also hit by Helene here in Florida, but there was no major damage, thankfully. Thank you so much for the super chat!
I’ve been looking for this type of instruction for a few years. Thank you so much!!
Thank you Dawn, glad you found it helpful!
I was gonna take the screen up before stapling.. I didn't think others did that, too, so I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Brother, you’re a life saver. Thank for taking the time to put your video out here.👍🏻
No problem 👍

Hey ty for making this video I gotta replace a panel for a neighbor and wasnt confident I could do it but thanx this helped so much

Do you pull the screen tight while putting the spline in?
I have a question, I am trying to do it by myself. Why did you divide by 32, and do the spline should be flat o round? Thanks

can you give us a link to the clips you used please ?

Great help bro
Any suggestions for how to get creases out of the screen? I had mine folded for a while, and it has seemingly permanent creases
Nice looks good

Great video. What brand aluminum frame is it?
I got it from Lowes and I believe it was called Bertha. I've had it about 6 years now and so far no issues at all.
hope it goes as easy for me as you did it lol
Great video tks

So helpful! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you!!🙏🏽

Great guide!
Nice👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you ✌
How do you measure the porch to know how much screening you need?
Take tape measure and measure the total height and width of screen area.
I don’t believe we have spline, there isn’t a metal frame, the screen is right between the wood of our patio windows. What do we do then?
😻
Pro tip: use clips.
I’m literally here because of my cat
It would have been if you would have started from the beginning and show to remove the flat piece that covers the edges all the way around.
i counted only 4 lines, not 5 :)
You lost me at “you wanna be a little liberal”
😆
