  • Strength of Material is one of the core and basic subjects for Mechanical and Civil Engineering students for interview. Entire design part of engineering needs the basic knowledge of SOM. Civil engineers cant have strong concepts of structure if they don’t have knowledge of SOM. This subject is full of concepts. Students face lots of problem in understanding the basic concepts asked in interview from this subject. This video has covered almost every aspect of the subject. It is possible that some questions asked are beyond the coverage of this video. Students need not to answer all the questions to score high in interview. All easy questions must be answered on the other hand. This is the video which student aspiring to score good in interview must listen and prepare before going for the interview. Some topics like Mohr circle, stress strain diagram, SFD, BMD etc are explained properly.

If you are searching in comments that should you watch this 7 hours long video, then I'll suggest yes, you definitely should watch this video. It's completely worth watching this video. Just you need to know about the subject and sir will revise your subject thoroughly and you will enjoy every, every moment of the video. It's a "must watch" video atleast for mechanical and civil guys. My fear of SOM is just vanished. I genuinely respect my professor but the sir is really deserve respect and love. A gift to all the students.

Sir u said that modulus of toughness & modulus of resilience are energy/unit vol. & represented in stress-strain dig so it is property. But my question is Toughness and resilience are energies & represented in load-deflection dig. so this two are not the property of material?

Sir, at 1:27:40 you told liquids are incompressible but I think it is not always correct bcz compressibility of fluids is decided by Mach No. (less than 0.3 for incompressible). eg. During water hammer liquid is compressed.
