I love how you thoroughly critiqued the game instead of glossing over the negative parts.its really frustrating to see reviewers tawk about all the good parts of a game for 20 mins but the bad parts are just summed up in 5 with little detail. Also that jill rant got a good laugh out of me. Nice video👍
I think in general you have people who are overtly critical and then rest are just pure hype boys. It's hard to keep a balance, because often we don't just dont have purely neutral feels about the game, they tend to lean negative or positive than 50/50.
At the end of the day it was the decision of the developers and I think I agree that there should be an easy/story mode, action mode and hard / final fantasy mode right off the bat
Dion is my favorite character as well as Joshua in his adult form. Dion is a very fleshed out character. I connected with him immediately. Dion and Clive complement each other, they are similar but have different viewpoints. I could tell Dion and Joshua were friends for a long time. I liked Barnabas a lot too, but they wasted his character. He was too intelligent to be tricked by Ultima.
well something i did not mention was the stuff you had to deal with Martha and the other alliants who didn't really matter in grand scheme of things. Most of that should've been just side quest content instead
@@SugiJRPGcompletely disagree. Every one of those characters allowed you to learn about each region of the world. Without that, the character would have no reason to care about any of these regions or people or anything. You would just go from place to place and see the pretty sites and that’s it. This is world building. Those quests need to exist. And plus it’s a good way to have a breather in the story. We can’t just have eikon battle after eikon battle in the story. It would be too fast and too overwhelming. There needs to be slow parts. That’s how pacing works in stories. It allows the big moments to hit even harder
"World building", but the game doesn't do enough to make those things compelling and interesting. If the world made you question why things are this way or that way, or a "oh, what's over here", then you would seek it out and hope it's an interesting area to explore with compelling side quests
@@tehCostHD Nobody gives a fck about Martha lets be honest about that, You could have instead of a guestline from byron instead, whose actually relevant to the region. Or more quests with Sir wade instead. I Don't think filler sidequest lines in general are most effective way to do worldbuilding
Well, well... After hearing how you've presented both Jill (being such a macho wasn't needed here, we can understand what you mean without needing being vulgar--aside from you don't making this kind of comments on masc characters) and LGBTQ+ characters, I can conclude you are a bit biased on the equality front, even if everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, burying one's pow on this topic (LGTBQ+'s representation) under the "less markets, less money, less games" IS INDEEED REDUCTIVE. Representation DOES matter and it shouldn't be tied to sales or any other socioeconomic factor, so be better, man, what you are saying on this front is just a pile of cr**!
How is it an agenda? You think Japanese people have an agenda to make a gay character? They clearly just based his character off the knight of flowers from game of thrones which heavily inspired every part of this game. It’s not that serious. Gay people exist. Not everything is an agenda.
I’m sorry but what ‘gay agenda’? Dion just happened to be gay just like Clive happened to be straight. Clive and Cid’s romance was far more prominent in the story. I’m sure people think you’re cool too despite you being black…
I dont like the straight agenda either just because a character is obviously straight but who am I to judge when theres not even an agenda unlike what you are saying lmfao
Gonna get back to working on some FF mod videos for you next.. Have to theorycraft on the DLC still

I totally agree with you that the hardest mode should be at the start of the game. This is where this game drops down to lower ratings majorly.
At the end of the day it was the decision of the developers and I think I agree that there should be an easy/story mode, action mode and hard / final fantasy mode right off the bat
and its not like these developers make more money based on how much more ppl play the game, its not some online gatcha game.
This felt like a mid 00's game in terms of design but with pretty graphics.
It does have some of that yea.
100%. Flat characters and contrived/forced plot elements

Dion very fleshed? Idk about that
I agree
I liked Joshua's adult character better

I loved subversion...until Rian Johnson came along.
There are too many breaks in between the main story

Didn't like the gay agenda....but dion was an interesting character minus the gayness
Yes, Dion was a good character. He would be my first choice of the DLC character honestly.
