How does this not have more views? I am currently contemplating on buying a house which had 30 piers of exterior work and 8 piers of interior work. Mesquite, Texas area. Your video has just made me really think about this house.

My mother’s needs interior foundation work done. She has already had foundation work done inside and outside. She is in a house built in the 80s by a subdivision developer. On the contrary, the house I live in, only 5 miles from my mother, has never needed a foundation repair. My house was built in 1956. I think it depends on who built the house and when.

What about in Houston with yearly flooding etc.? Is it worth getting a house that has had the foundation repaired?

Throughout most areas of Texas, we have highly expansive clay soils. Foundation problems and the need for repair is a matter of “when” and not “if”.
Typically it is better to purchase an older home which has had foundation repair work done by a reputable company and is covered under warranty than to buy an older home which has never had foundation work performed and will most likely need it during the term of your ownership.
