  • 20 miles of paddling and four miles of carries in four days on the Little Tupper Lake traverse in the Whitney Wilderness. We caught a lot of bass, ate blueberries and black huckleberries, enjoyed the changing scenery of lakes, ponds, swamps and forest full of pond lily, pickerel weed, pitcher plants, joe pye, cardinal flower and goldenrod in bloom and abundance.

    What a cool trip David! I can't believe I haven't watched this one before since this is one of the Loops that Terry and I want to do but maybe try to go through Lows to Bog River Flow. You caught some really nice Bass! Now I wish I would have spent some time fishing with you on my way out of Middle Saranac. I have a lot of trips to catch up on since I have only started paddling these past couple of years. What a beautiful place! I need to spend a lot more time up there! Jeff

      Endless water to explore. This trip had some very muddy entries and exits and areas of mud on the portage trails. Definitely want to pack well and avoid bug season. Little Tupper is wind blown though and could be a good place when the bugs are bad.

    Great Trip! No place better on earth than a remote Adirondack lake. Which ADK map were you using that shows the campsites?

      Paddlers map from St. Regis Outfitters is best. I use the Onx app as well.

    Great trip guys! Brother & I did it from Lila to Little Salmon back when you could travel through the private land cause of a battle going on in the courts for navigable waters! Got to check out that part of river including Mud pond! Great scenery back there too!

      They all could be "mud" pond. Fun trip, only so many routes that you really feel away from it all.

    Noah, What were those dark, almost black round berries you picked of the tall bush & it looks like you incorporated them into the breakfast during the next shot. I believe you were at/around the "Little Salmon crossover ? I always thought they were in the family of "Never Wake Up Berries". What say you ?
    Thanks Man, Jeffrey

      Thanks Ray. I lost balance in the muck and it slipped off on this trip. Got a decent scratch on my arm from the portage yoke. Does it still count as dumping if you're on land?? 👍

    Enjoy your videos especially since I haven't been able to visit my beautiful ponds since the border closure. Are you allowed to troll two lines in NY? Hope to pick up my Hornbeck next spring and do some brookie fishing,

  • @TR_Swan
    @TR_Swan 3 роки тому +1

    Which Hornbeck is that? What do you think of it? I am shopping for a light pack boat. I am just torn between composite like Horbeck or Swift compared to a heavier T-Formex boat like Esquif or Wenonah. Looks like it survived the fall ok.

    • @NatureIntoAction
      @NatureIntoAction  3 роки тому

      Definitely I enjoy my hornbeck classic 12. It is the fishing package w the wood gunnel and matrix hull. They are tough for their weight. I'd add weight for a better seat but it works.. Ive not put time in on other pack boats so can't compare. Another option is the northstar adirondack pack boat. All depends on what you plan to do with it..
