Minds eye picture of Ireland. Just beautiful. An old church and graveyard, in the middle of sheep. The views, wonderful. Glad you didn't get hurt, except for bramble pokes. Thank you Sue. Another amazing little spot of peace.
Hi Sue it is beautiful where you are today ....I love the sheep they look content in their natural environment. Thank you for everything you do to show us different places of beautiful Ireland. 🥰😍
Wow, isn't this place beautiful with the sheep roaming around and old headstones. The entry way on the ruins are amazing. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Thanks for sharing ❤ God Bless and take care
You are intrepid, Sue. I worry about you twisting an ankle out there. It was funny to see some sheep standing their ground - even that little flock has its defenders. Beautiful video. The families buried together over generations are somehow reassuring. Thank you so much.
Such a peaceful place for eternal rest. That was lovely and old. Loved everything except I wanted to mow it. Those briars are nasty, I have run across those before in my adventures. Thank you for taking us there without Irish Eyes. You are a brave lass
Sheep are generally curious but never enter a field if Mr Sheep is there he could cause trouble minding his ladies!! Another great video Sue and fantastic views Have a Happy Christmas and Stay safe Best wishes for the new year 🍀🍀🍀🍀
Wow....So beautiful...and old. I'd love to go back in time to see how they lived. To see how the cemetery looked...where you could read all the markers. Thank you Sue...it was a nice stroll.
As I continue to watch your videos of these abandoned churches/graveyards they almost have become archeological sites as they tell the stories of the people who lived and worshiped at these sites and even the architecture of the churches describes an entire culture. For those of us who love history these are just priceless.
Hi Sue! Some ankle-threatening terrain in that one so I'm glad you came through it unscathed. The sheep have a fine view there. The brambles remind me of the blackberries in the Adelaide Hills here. They're an introduced invasive species and they've made some areas almost inaccessible. The church's doorway (Norman style, I think) was worth going to see in itself. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪
I loved the doorway so nice, ahh those brambles are horrible, in September they will be full of gorgeous blackberries, people still pick them here at side of roads for homemade jam ❤
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I think blackberry was introduced here as a form of hedging before it got out of control. I haven't heard of anyone here picking the wild fruit (which is not to say that no-one does) but I've had some painful experiences of stumbling into blackberry thickets in the scrub in my wanderings. 🇦🇺 🇮🇪
Amazing graves and ruins, I love the inside of the ruins, but my favorite part were the sheep. I loved how they ran and then there was a little group who stood there staring at you maybe in either bewilderment or defiance, that looked like great fun. Total adventure that was, thanks for taking us along!
You were lucky those weren't attack sheep! Lol. Pictures of all these abandoned churches and graveyards would make an amazing calendar. That tall grass could be treacherous though. Thanks for the lovely video,Sue.
You are definitely very tenacious getting into these old graveyards and finding all the different stones broken and f ixed so fearless are you. Thank you
It's fascinating to know that Saunders came to Ireland with the Brute, Oliver Cromwell, and was given thousands of acres of land. I wish ruins could talk. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.
Love the old church and graves going back to the 1790's amazing. I have to say Sue you are one trooper walking through all that high grass and brambles. Wishing you a blessed Christmas.
Oh Sue what a beautiful place. You are a brave lady to venture there by yourself. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely place with us. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas 🎅
Ahh thanks Mary-Anne, I do love it, although I was a wee bit nervous there, may all your dreams come through this Christmas and may you have a truly happy and healthy new year ❤❤
Your site was mentioned on Faces of The Forgotten, so I had to check it out. Amazing video and I have subscribed to continue to follow you on your travels. I hope that you and your family have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Very intriguing place. Love love loved the sheep lol. Seriously though I really loved this little congregation of people. I can almost imagine them attending church together. Being neighbors and friends and etc. very cool
Interesting! I wonder if you had ever thought about going to Teampuileen, an ancient burial ground near Mount Long Castle in County Cork? It might be worth a visit but I was told not to go after dark…
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I couldn’t find it on maps but I think if you go to Mount Long Castle it shouldn’t be too hard to find from there. There is a wall around it so that should help you. Perhaps a friendly neighbor can help too. Best of luck 🤞
Grew up not far from there, wonderful entrance to Saunderscourt. Left along time ago because of abusive mother, and her greed for land. Miss Ireland and crossabeg.
It's a shame that they have used such a porous stone because if they had used nonporous stone it wouldn't soak up water and lichen wouldn't grow on the stones in such abundance as it is here

Thanks Betty, thos brambles are so annoying to get through and they hurt, yes it's a good picture of rural Ireland ❤❤
Very beautiful and peaceful resting place.
It's nice but hard to get around ❤

Thanks Shantibel, I think I've managed to twist my ankle twice now so I'm more aware of underfoot, gorgeous 🐑 thankfully no Rams ❤

Oh yes they have nasty thorns on the Bush, very very sore, they are actually a lovely fruit and the homemade Jam is gorgeous, I've made it myself ❤

How picturesque to see the flock of sheep with this of the church in the background. Thank you for taking us with you on this adventure.
Thanks Ben, this is rural Ireland for you, its normal here I suppose. I love this little place, forgotten I'm sure by most ❤
Awesome I love these old cemeteries especially the older stories
Me too Martin 🥰
Wow what a lovely little place Sue 😍
It's sweet, hard to find but we found it in the end ❤❤
What awesome place
Thanks Rex ❤ 😊
Love this! I understand letting nature take its course, but I'd be so tempted to cut back the overgrowth that has obscured some beautiful headstones.
Thanks Craig, yes I agree with you, I mean I kinda admit to loving the old and overgrown but a path way to ease headstone would be perfect 🥰
It's fascinating to know that Saunders came to Ireland with the Brute, Oliver Cromwell, and was given thousands of acres of land. I wish ruins could talk. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

Thanks Arleen, appreciate that, it was sore when I got stuck, brambles are the worst and nettles of course too ❤❤
Lovely little place and peaceful🥰❤️🙏

Thanks for the sub, welcome to my channel and to Ireland too, many happy returns to you and yours xx ❤
That was awesome but you got a work out on this one.
Oh I did, no harm that... I need to get back into my pre operation shape lol ❤❤
Very intriguing place. Love love loved the sheep lol. Seriously though I really loved this little congregation of people. I can almost imagine them attending church together. Being neighbors and friends and etc. very cool
Ahh thanks Linda, that's a lovely comment, I bet that door and window above were stunning 😍 ❤
Interesting! I wonder if you had ever thought about going to Teampuileen, an ancient burial ground near Mount Long Castle in County Cork? It might be worth a visit but I was told not to go after dark…
Ooohhh sounds right up my street, I must look it up, thanks Colby❤

Thanks Colby, found the castle on maps but the nearest graveyard seems to be called kilmongue??
Grew up not far from there, wonderful entrance to Saunderscourt. Left along time ago because of abusive mother, and her greed for land. Miss Ireland and crossabeg.
Ahh sorry to hear that Peter ❤
I believe the first headstone was India?? Sorry I just saw you had the city and country posted. 👏👏
Yes I spotted it in edit, thank you ❤❤
@@SerenitySueGraveyards just saw that when I went back to look at it again! 😅
I don't know how I didn't see it at the time 🤣
I love how the sheep just stop to get a better look at you.
Curious for sure, love sheep, just glad there was no Ram in that herd or I may not have crossed ❤❤
I love the writing of the 1700s
Me too ❤❤
Each place you go is more beautiful than the one before…
Thank you ❤❤
@@SerenitySueGraveyards I love that even growing up in Ireland you appreciate the stunning beauty of it. You should be resting 😂
I'm back in bed watching UA-cam lol
@@SerenitySueGraveyards do feel better..take your vitamin C and Zinc…just what you need, another mum
It always makes me wonder what this area was like back in the day etc
Very beautiful I bet, over looking the sea
What a beautiful dilapidated holy place. It’s a shame about the interior.
It is, I find so many like this unfortunately
It's a shame that they have used such a porous stone because if they had used nonporous stone it wouldn't soak up water and lichen wouldn't grow on the stones in such abundance as it is here
Yes, it's such a shame
Sometimes you have to do what you have to do kiddo, just don't touch electric fence
😅😅 definitely not gona touch the fence, they are some sore
Correction Sue: Mhow is a small city in India (not Indiana) 😊
I know, I was corrected about this and I can see it myself now so clearly lol
Lol! Believe me, Indiana wouldn’t have a place called Mhow.
watch that E fence you could get a shock 😲 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I did years ago, it's horrible lol
With all the over grown grass could you not put some sheep,or goats ,or horses in there to eat the grass ,
Ive seen that done before and the headstones were damaged by them pushing against them, maybe goats or sheep would be a good idea alright 🤔
Indiana 🤣
That means India
Yes you're correct, I think I actually edited that correctly cheers
