𝄢 Dan 🙏
Im a beginner. Thanks it's new to me
Thank you!! I struggle with timing so much and this is really helpful!
Really glad it helped you! Keep practicing and your timing will improve in no time...
I struggle alot with timing... I hope this lesson will be of help to me...thank you Sir
Good luck, Daniel! Keep at it and do a little bit of work on your timing everyday. You'll definitely get better that way.
I always find singing the line with the click before i play anything helps.
Thanks mate - fantastic lesson!
Nice one! Thanks for watching.
Very clear! Good job mate!
Thanks Carlos!
Great exercices thank you :)
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Wow! fantastic tutorial and the best i have seen. I was really struggling with timing or even understand how it works you have opened doors which i am staring to 'click' everything into place pardon the pun huge thank you for this you are are brilliant teacher.
Glad it helped!
This is advanced space-magic from the future. Thank you!
I’m not sure it’s quite that magical but…maybe it is!
Great video!
🙏
Thanks for the honest vidoes
My pleasure. Thanks for the comment.
I guess the next step of this exercise would be to put the metronome on &ands, e's and a's...great lesson ! Thanks Dan.
Thanks! Try it.
I find my internal clock and sense of time is great as a listener but once I have the mental stack of also trying to play, as a beginner it all goes to shit fast.
Yeah that sounds normal so don’t worry. A lot of it is technique and control over the instrument. Once you get that down, it’s much easier.
Thank you! I am just wondering why are you playing on the rests? E.g around the 5 minute mark
No problem! The notation indicates where the metronome beats lie, not the actual bass line. You can actually play what you like over these exercises!
@@OnlineBassCourses Oh thanks I get it now! I appreciate the clarification
@@upseteilish-i-love-you No problem! Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@OnlineBassCourses omg thank you i was totally confused haha
My apologies if I missed it, did you say how long for each exercise? I shoot for 3-6 minutes per to simulate playing a song.
I didn’t say how long. You can tailor it to how long you have. 3-6 minutes sounds pretty good. 👍
I am probably doing something wrong. To me this isn't a challenge at all, because I don't even listen to the metronome clicks, I simply play the groove and it's always accurate. When I hear a groove, I know how it should sound and I play it from my head, I don't know if this makes sense.
Please tell me if I completely miss the point of the exercise!
If you’re always accurate then you’re doing something right! Carry on. 🙏👍
Are you making sure that you are playing the note on beat 1, then on beat 2& and on beat 3 ? At 1:07 Dan shows the bassline tab..
@@nouyed Hey Naved, I don't even think about it like that, I don't count. If it makes sense, I simply hear it as du d-du ... du d-du :) I can recreate the sound exactly in my head when I hear it once and I just replicate it. I spoke to my bass professor about counting as well, he never counted anything and he's an elite player. He told me: "I'd like to see someone count a Macedonian kolo (form of music for kolo dance) that's in 17/16" :)
I subscribed on the condition you tell what that bass to your left on the wall in tobacco is......Thank you.
That's a good condition - thanks for subscribing! It's a 1968 Fender Precision.
@@OnlineBassCourses 1968, the Jack Bruce and Cream years. You got a piece of history hangin'. Cheers!
I'd love to know the history of this bass!
where can i find the metronome
Google has a free one.
can i have the link on the one you used please@@OnlineBassCourses
Tab is wrong I think. You wrote dotted 1/4 but you play 1/4 + quaver rest
You can play it either way - no big deal. Thanks for the comment! 🙏🙏👍
it looks like you are so bored .... you make me want to take a nap
🤣 to be fair this is one of my first ever UA-cam videos and I was so camera shy! Check out my latest videos. You may learn something and hopefully stay awake.
What a sultry voice. I think I am now bisexual
An unintended side effect of this particular video... 🤣🤣
