The greatest crime committed in this is that Kevin didn't even get to eat his Mac and Cheese. It's also great to see Macaulay and John Candy together again after Uncle Buck. Even though they didn't share the screen. The fact that John Candy improvised the entire funeral home scene makes it all the more hilarious. This film solidified my life long love for Mac n Cheese and Pizza.
Christmas movies my family watch every December: The first two Home Alone's, Christmas Vacation, Christmas Story, Ernest Saves Christmas, Elf, and then on Christmas Eve night, we watch A Christmas Carol (with Alastair Sim).
I don't think spaghetti and meatballs is the best choice of dinner for Home Alone. The constant doubling over in hysterics/spit takes with food in your mouth all but guarantees it will end up in your lap or the floor as you faceplant into Marinara Hell with a spaghetti noodle hanging out your nose. Trust me on that one.
I'm from Guatemala, a Latin American country where Christmas is a huge event (some people open their Christmas presents at midnight, others wait until the morning), but now I'm living in Taiwan, where Christmas is almost like a big Black Friday: something purely commercial, but that almost nobody celebrates with their family, so no gifts. December 25th is a totally normal day in this part of Asia where few people are Christians. Anyway, I enjoyed this classic Christmas movie many years ago, and now again with you, guys! Thank you and happy holidays! :D
*"...in this part of Asia where few people are Christians."* Sorry to hear that. But at least it's still present there. ✝️ 🕊️ 👑 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6
The kid Fuller that plays the cousin who wets the bed is acting Macauley Caulkins little brother. He plays in alot of good movies too. I love how their in both movies of Home Alone 1&2.
yup That was great seein these 2 laugh out loud at the falling on ice, etc. I saw this in theatre wth a date and the whole audience was going nuts, Such a classic film comedy wth nice holiday messages
This was so fun to watch along with you guys. A tradition in our house every year on Christmas Eve. So great to hear your laughter. I needed a smile, so thank you for this. ❤
Ohhh yes, we Czechs also open presents on 24th in the evening, it is a tradition here, because then when dads get and receive presents and kids go to bed, dads go to pub to celebrate with friends as well :)
The bit when Old Man Marley says he and his son lost their tempers with each other is very powerful. You should NEVER lose your temper with your dad. You only ever get one Dad!
House, Macallister House used for the movie with some sponsors, I think Air BNB had a promo during the holidays that you can rent the house for one day.
I don't think there will be live action movie that's as cartoony as this 😂. Real life combined with Cartoons was something I didn't know was possible 😅😂
29:45 My family on the Pacific Coast of the U.S. would unpack our stockings first thing Christmas morning and then have a large, leisurely cooked breakfast. Then we'd open Christmas presents in the late morning. We'd eat Christmas dinner in the mid- or late afternoon, and in the evening there was the option to have some leftovers (often including a turkey or ham sandwich) if you were hungry.
Christmas adventures of Clint Eastwood when he was a little kid. Poor pizza guy probably quit. I love it. He goes to church, then immediately goes home afterwards and kicks two grown men's asses.
There's a rather strange theory about one scene in this. When the mom (Catherine O'Hara) is at the airport counter pleading with the agent to get back to Chicago, there's a man with a beard and a grey blazer waiting behind her in line. A strange theory somehow developed that the man was famous rock singer Elvis Presley, even though he had already been dead for quite some time. While it's obviously someone else, it's still something good to laugh about.
This was seriously the best reaction to this movie I’ve ever seen, so many people are blasé about it or at best give a slight chuckle. You two were laughing your pants off and it made the whole experience lol - thank you for sharing this with us! I enjoyed every minute! Subscribed 👍
When I was a kid I used to make far worse traps! Deadly! I am lucky I didn't send anyone to the hospital, although my grandma should have gone to take those needles out of the bones of her feet but instead she took a pair of pliers and took them out herself one by one! When I think about it today I get goosebumps, it must have been very painful. I never did that one again and I still remember it with regret. As a kid I thought the needles were not long enough to make more than a prickle but boy was I wrong! Those things went inside the bones!!! I wish my grandma was alive to apologize again!
I've had a sewing needle go in my bone, it's incredibly painful for about five minutes and then everything stops hurting. Unless you move....at all....
Growing up at home my family always had a real tree and we always celebrated xmas on the 24th. That always worked out as my wifes family always celabrated on xmas day. In the 50 yrs since being away from home still always have xmas on the 24th and no real tree , too much expense in my book. But the christmas movie for my family has always been "christmas story". But 2 other favs for me at xmas are 'miracle on 34th street" 1947 and "Holiday Inn'.
My advice would be to open one gift on x-mas eve while watching 'Die Hard' then open the remainder after a nice x-mas morning breakfeast followed by 'Home Alone' & maybe 'Lethal Weapon' after dinner & once the kids have gone to bed. And cookies. Lots of cookies.
"We forgot to put carrots for the reindeer!" Marian: 🤦♂ 🤣 If you guys haven't seen Kung Fu Hustle, you should check it out. And have a beer to start. You'll be dead before it's over. 🤣
Im watching this reaction in mid January (just found your Channel) but our celebrate on Christmas Eve. We watch Home Alone 1&2 & open gifts at midnight. We also eat fish & seafood on Christmas Eve, no meat. Im in Canada but Italian immigrant parents. You guys should watch part 2. Its pretty fun as well.
Try the compromise of opening one small present on Xmas eve and the rest on Xmas morning. Next year you might try the Jimmy Stewart classic "Its a Wonderful Life" one of my favourites along with the original "Miracle on 34th Street"from 1947
(Southwest USA) We mostly open presents on Christmas Day. Sometimes certain people will open presents on Chrismas Eve if convenient, for example visiting two different sides of the family after a divorce. I have also heard of some families having each person open one present on Christmas Eve, and the rest of the presents the next day. Anyways, great film and great reaction!
I just saw a bloopers and the behind the scenes video about Home Alone last night. In one scene they were talking about the part where Daniel Stern (Marv) had the tarantula on his face. He said he wasn't as scared of having the tarantula on his face as he was about having to hit Joe Pesci (Harry) with the crowbar. I don't know for sure, but I don't think Joe Pesci is someone you want to make mad. He may be short, but he seems like someone who has a very short fuse. Maybe being short has something to do with it.
Daniel Stern (Marv) is arachnophobic. Imagine having your biggest fear _put on your face!_ Talk about having to face your fears! [edit] Stupid autocorrupt.

Open Christmas presents BOTH TIMES. Let the Big One(s) occur on Christmas to support the Santa Claus Visit fantasy for a while. But Christmas Eve can be good for smaller gifts. One thing - don't give pets at Christmas Time. Too many people, too many objects and the pet will appreciate either being isolated OR cuddled constantly. And the risk of smelly cleanups, too. Avoid pets at Christmas time...
Such a classic. National lampoons Christmas vacation is probably the most iconic iconic Christmas movie there is but this is definitely top 3. I would say national lampoons, A Christmas story, And home alone Are the most well known Christmas movies in existence. This one is unique in the sense that it's Uber popular and such a great movie despite the acting being......well....... pretty terrible lol.
