The second one is ABSOLUTELY worth it. After that… I think they were made for a younger audience
The fourth one definitely was, and the worst part about the fourth one is it has Kevin but played by a different actor and pretends that the second one never happened. I haven't seen the fifth and sixth one yet. All I know is like the third one, they have a different child protagonist.
Truth
@@LightStreak567the 3rd one is the only other one worth watching after the first 2.
@@nsasupporter7557uhhh no tf it's not
@@nsasupporter7557 Yeah, I agree.
If you want another great John Candy movie check out Uncle Buck. Written and Directed by John Hughes who also wrote and directed Planes Trains and automobiles. John Hughes didn't direct Home alone but he wrote it. Uncle Buck came out the year before Home Alone. Uncle Buck feels a lot like the other two movies.
Daniel Stern (Marv) is terrified of spiders, and initially refused to have the spider anywhere near him. But he eventually told the director he would only do the "spider-scene" for one single take. His high-pitched scream is absolutely real.
I heard the director told him they were going to use a fake spider and actually used a real one to get that real pure fear on his face.
@@christopherking4932
I read that Stern working with spider wrangler's Barry The Tarantula. Yes, tarantula's name is Barry. Prior to the scene, Stern had to get use to Barry. Stern didn't want to scare Barry because spider might bite him when he did his famous scream.
They initially told Daniel Stern they would be using a fake spider for the scene but at the last second, used the real one without letting Stern know. The look of terror on his face was real, but he couldn't actually scream because he didn't want to spook the tarantula and end up getting bit. So, he had to scream silently and then later, they recorded him screaming and added it back in over the initial scene.
@@bloodwolfgaming9269 oh ok 👌
For John Candy, I recommend “Uncle Buck” which also features a slightly younger Macaulay Culkin
I LOVE this film! The physical comedy is top notch but also such a heartfelt story. For more John Candy I suggest The Great Outdoors and Spaceballs!
Me too
Great reaction you two...
Macaulay Culkin's (Kevin McAllister) character was actually inspired by the character he played a year earlier in 'Uncle Buck', where he does very similar things & behaviors. In fact, it was John Hughes himself (who wrote both films and directed Uncle Buck) that suggested both Macaulay & John Candy for these parts in this film to director Chris Columbus. And it was Hughes who gave this film to Chris Columbus to direct after being fired off of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (due to creative differences....Hughes also wrote Christmas Vacation).
And FYI Chris Columbus also wrote Gremlins. 😉
Oscar winning composer John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, Indiana Jones, Superman: The Movie, ET, and countless others) did the musical scores for Home Alone 1 & 2.
Yes, Uncle Buck is the film that would lead to Home Alone subsequently
And Harry Potter year 1-3.
Her first time reaction was absolutely beautiful...
Kevin McAllister grows up to become Jigsaw from the SAW movies.
Oh man. Some amazing John Candy films include, "The Great Outdoors", "Delirious" and "Uncle Buck".
You might find the nail in the foot to be the worst part, but as someone that's always had back problems, watching them repeatedly fall down the icy stairs is mild torture for me to watch :)
This and A Christmas Story are the two best Christmas movies!
Hahaha omg yes, those stairs were so brutal!
@@maplenutsreact can you guys react to Home Alone 2
Nice!
A great Christmas themed comedy adventure film that everyone loves!
Heck yeah! It's such a fun movie!
@@maplenutsreact Can you guys react to Home Alone 2 (Lost in New York). It's even way funnier than Home Alone one but that's just my opinion.
Hey guys! I'm happy you enjoyed this movie in the spirit it was intended, with all that pesky *logic* getting in the way. Haha! Great job! 😁👍
If you guys want to really see his range as a child actor, check out "The Good Son". With both Macaulay Culkin & Elijah Woods as child actors! They carry the whole film and its alot more serious in nature! That said, Home Alone 2 is well worth the watch! But Home Alone & The Good Son are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum lol!
*John Candy (Uncle Buck)*
also starring *Macaulay Culkin*
*John Candy & Dan Aykroyd (The Great Outdoors)*
This one and the sequel are my two favorite Christmas movies from my childhood. I also recommend watching _National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation._ I'm sure you both would have a blast with that one too.
best christmas movie is die hard
@@johnpaullogan1365 Believe it or not, I've not yet seen it. Most people I've seen bring it up say good things about it. I don't think it'd take the place of my _Home Alone_ films, though.
Uncle Buck & Cool Runings are 2 amazing John Candy films.
Nicely done you two! Culkin's co-stars also talked a lot about how mature he was for his age so it's great that you brought that up. For John Candy, my favourites are Spaceballs, Cool Runnings, and a rare dramatic role for him is Only the Lonely.
Much like Die Hard, this is a Christmas classic.
Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern deserved their own spin off movie imo lol. They are such a funny duo.
My favorite John Candy movies are: The Great Outdoors, Cool Runnings, Spaceballs, and Uncle Buck.
Fun fact: My aunt and cousin were filmed as background actors during a couple of movie scenes for The Great Outdoor. My cousin's scene was cut and didn't make the theatrical edition of the movie (it was supposed to be when the main characters were at the lake). My aunt can be seen briefly in the background during one of the bar scenes. She's walking behind John Candy and Dan Ackroyd wearing a purple sweater. The movie was filmed close to where my family members lived in the Southern California area.
Hi Chandra & Jordan, personally, I like the first 3 Home Alone films, even though the 3rd is a different family & "crooks". I think, because the young kid get`s to torment twice as many "crooks" in creative way`s. Great to see someone else discover the joy this wonderful Xmas classic brings. :)
Just subscribed after seeing your Die Hard reaction. Good to see a couple fellow Canadians. Looking forward to watching some more reactions with you.
"The Great Outdoors" with John Candy is pretty funny!
I'll never look at hot dogs the same way again, lol 🌭
@@MLJ7956 Made of lips and assholes?
A doctor watched this movie and did a great video he commented how much pain these guys would really be in, the real extent of thier injuries and even if most would survive all this torture. He estimated if not dead by a miracle they would surely be in the hospital for a couple of months. He said the most dangerous one was the falling down the stairs. He said how they fell surely thats 2 broken backs but the neck snapped back would have been fatal. Makes you think about it in a whole different way
Whoooa! 2 broken backs and a neck snapped. Yeah, this sounds more like a horror movie now haha
John Hughes' 'Baby's Day Out' (1994) doesn't get recommended enough. Underrated little gem. 🧡
Earlier this month, Macaulay Culkin gotten his Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. His family was there including his movie mother played by Catherine O'Hara.
Aw that's nice. Interesting career he had. I just rewatched _Saved!_ which I feel like was his last semi-major role as a child/teen actor. (A middle of the road movie with a lot of great young actors in it.)
The neighbor reunited with his family always makes me cry.
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
Home Alone 2 is definitely worth a watch. Other Christmas movies I would highly recommend are National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, the original Miracle on 34th St, and It's a wonderful life. Uncle Buck is a can't miss classic that also features Macaulay Culkin.
Y'all have become my favorite reactors! Definitely watch the second film! In some ways it's even better!
I Have A John Candy Comedy Called Uncle Buck And It’s A Hybrid Of Home Alone And Uncle Buck because It Has Two Actors You May Recognize John Candy And Macaulay Culkin! MIND BLOWN!!!
New to your channel... loving it! As for more John Candy... Uncle Buck is a must see!
6:16 She's not very good. She counted the neighbor once and herself twice.
When I was young, I thought Kevin flooded his neighbor's house, and I thought that was a bit messed up. I didn't realize it was the Wet Bandits.
It sounds as if you haven't watched "Uncle Buck." I don't even want to say who's in it because it could be a nice surprise.

"You guys give up? Or are you thirsty for more?"
Merry Christmas! ✝️ 🙏 🎄 🎁
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Hope Davis, Paula Newsome, Kristin Minter, and Tracy J. Connor.
Family Affair Fact: The boy who played Kevin's cousin Fuller is Macaulay Culkin's little brother Kieran Culkin in his feature film debut.
All In Fact: Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern felt indifferent about the movie's potential during shooting, so they intentionally gave over-the-top performances, neither one of them believed this movie would become a massive success.
Mrs. Doubtfire Award Fact: The picture Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) finds of Buzz's (Devin Ratray) girlfriend was a picture of a boy made up to look like a girl, because director Chris Columbus thought it would be too cruel to make fun of a girl like that. The boy that was used in the photo was art director Dan Webster's son.
What Script Fact: The line "You guys give up, or are you thirsty for more?" was improvised by Macaulay Culkin. Marv's lines "Why the hell are you dressed like a chicken?" and "Maybe he committed suicide?" were improvised by Daniel Stern. John Candy filmed his part in only one day, albeit a twenty-three-hour day. Almost all of his dialogue was improvised.
Thank You Very Much Fact: There is a legend that Elvis Presley (who died in 1977) made a cameo in this movie. Many of those who believe that Elvis is still alive maintained that the heavily bearded man standing in the background of the scene where Mrs. McCallister is shouting at the desk clerk (just before she meets John Candy) as Elvis. They asserted for years that the man is in the correct age range (Elvis would have been around 55 at the time), makes a head movement that Elvis frequently made during concerts, and that no record has ever been found about this particular actor's participation in the movie. The theory was finally debunked in 2018, when investigative journalists identified the extra as a man called Gary Richard Grott, who had passed away from a heart attack in February 2016. Grott's family was able to confirm that it was Grott in the movie, and also revealed that he had been working regularly as an extra on several Chris Columbus' movies, although Home Alone (1990) was the first one that he actually appeared in.
I can't believe he improvised "You guys give up, or are you thirsty for more?"!! That line is soooo good hahaha
@@maplenutsreact wait till both of y'all love birds check out Home Alone 3 sometime because 4 main baddies/villains 4 times the laughs plus Home Alone 3's somewhat more of a remake of the Original Home Alone!

Uncle Buck is a great John Candy film and it's directed by John Huges and stars the kid in this movie.
Seeing this movie in 1990 in a movie theater was awesome back then. The start of a new decade of music and movies. Christmas in the 1990s was a bit different than now the 1980s were even better.
I didn't notice when I first saw this but the side of the work van that Harry and Marv drive reads: "OH-KAY Plumbing & Heating" The film Joe Pesci did the year before this was "Lethal Weapon 2" where his character (Leo Getz) constantly says, "Okay, okay, okay." Apparently it was an inside joke. So funny.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it! This film was one of my favorite growing up! I must insist that you check out Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Home Alone 3; I know it’s a different character, but it’s just as good and hilarious! Also the 6th film Home Sweet Home Alone; it’s unique and pays tribute to the first 2 films and has Buzz in a cameo role.
Hone Alone 3 focuses on a boy name Alex, who is left home alone when he is sick with the chickenpox as his parents are working, and his older siblings are in school. He must defend his home against four espionage agents who seem to have an interest in his new remote toy car. Home Alone 4 uses the characters Kevin again with Marv, but they are different actors in their respective roles and in this, I guess you can say alternate universe, Kevin’s parents are in the middle of a divorce, and this time he must not only go against Marv, but his wife, Vera. In Home Alone: The Holiday Heist aka Home Alone 5, a video game crazy kid named Finn and his family moved to a new house that is supposedly haunted and has to battle against three art thieves as well as rescue her sister, who is trapped in a secret room in the basement.

What's completely unbelievable to me is that either the neighbor or the cops that arrested the burglars had to have realized Kevin was home alone, and LEFT HIM THAT WAY???
I love that John Candy and Macaulay were reunited in this after Uncle Buck. Even though they weren't in a scene together, close enough. Also the funeral scene by Candy was completely improvised, which makes it even more hilarious. And Marv's spider death scream is legit. He had arachnophobia. The greatest crime in this certainly...is that Kevin didn't even get to eat his Macaroni and Cheese....tragedy.
Reunited?? I don’t think so… they had no scenes together in Home Alone. Unless they interacted with eachother behind the scenes 🤷♂️
